I know, but I’m hoping to get close to 25 with the 10 speed auto. Some very cool technology there. In a perfect world (where I could afford it), I would have the C-Max and GT side by side in the garage.

The tank was wonderful, and the car had no trouble going back to 87. It was a great car that I got to put 40,000 miles in trouble free. I say that because I traded it in today for something I’ve always had my eyes on. A 2018 Mustang GT.

That’s great mileage! I’m still hovering between 51-52 in this tank with about 240 miles driven.

Already doing better after 1 day and 70 miles. My experiment looks to be a success so far. Filled up with 12.9 gallons of 93 octane 100%gas. On my 20 mile trip hike from work yesterday, I got 47mpg which is normal or slightly above normal at best for me. Today’s trip to work was 55mpg and today’s trip home was 54. Interesting! It’s like it took the computer a half hour to figure out it had been filled up with the good stuff. Excited to use the rest of this tank!

I drive from west Knoxville to Oak Ridge daily for work, can usually manage 52mpg on the way in, and 46mpg or so on the way back. There is a non branded station in Oak Ridge called Gasmart that feautures all grades of non-ethanol. What’s nice is that it’s only 25 cents more than their ethanol kind. Right now 100% gas is 2.84 for regular and 3.34 for 93.

Thanks, I plan to fill up this week with a full tank of 93 non-ethanol. Will keep you posted. My guess is if an average tank gets me 47-48, I’m hoping to break the 50 mpg mark for the tank.

Quick backstory: I love my 2013 C-Max and bought it used about 2 and a half years ago. My average mpg on a tank of gas is usually between 47 and 48. I'm very happy with that, and that's using 87 octane gas from Kroger with ethanol (fuel points) = big savings). For my birthday, I got some cash just to buy one tank of 100% gas, just for fun, to see what it does to the mileage. This car always gets 87 octane with 10% ethanol. My question is: if I'm going to buy just one full tank of 100% gas, should I get 87 octane 100% gas or 93 octane 100% gas if both are available. I just want to make sure I'd be ok to run one tank of 93 octane no ethanol, and then go right back to the usual 87 with ethanol. Thanks for any help!

New bulb put in today and all is well again!

Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the info! Yes, I can see the two bulbs orange bulbs per side. The passenger side orange bulbs will both blink when the right turn is activated. The driver side orange bulbs are on when I turn on parking lights, and stay on but do not blink when the left turn is activated. All that happens is the left mirror light and left turn light on the trunk blink really fast, as well as the left turn indicator on the dashboard. Weird! No other issues.
-
Thanks. My guess is the bulb as well, just odd how it can stay on but not blink. The tell tale is the fast clicking. On every car I’ve ever owned, that means it’s time to replace the bulb.

Hello, I’m hoping someone can offer a little bit of help here. On the driver side front, Orange parking light works and stays on when the headlight switch is on, but will not blink with the left turn signal activated. On the gauges, the light blinks super fast as if it’s out. If it’s the same bulb, it’s strange to me that the light can be on but not blink. Same with using the key fob, the left front orange light will not blink, but will then will be on when opening the doors. Thanks for any advice!

I got a new battery yesterday while it was under warranty for no charge. The car has been normal since, with one exception. The clock on the efficiency leaves screen is correct and changes like it should, but the clock on the sync screen was at 2:29 yesterday and now is at 2:50 today. It will not let you set it to the correct time, and seems to move slowly on its own pace (20 minutes in 24 hours). It’s the strangest thing I’ve ever seen. Everything else about the car seems normal.

Everything was fine. But now six days later, it does it again after sitting overnight but won’t come on for anythIng. Tow truck is on the way now. Going to get my battery replaced later today under warranty. We’ll see how it goes.

I have a 2013 SE. No battery issues other than replacing the original in early 2017. I always turn off headlights, radio, fan, etc. Drove normally to work today. At lunch (5 hours sitting) the key fob would not unlock the doors. Used key to get in, turned key, and nothing. Until about 3 seconds later, everything lit up and acted normal. Drove normally for 15 minutes. The trip information had been reset to 0 as if something had died/cleared out. Now, key fob works fine and car acts normally. Anyone have an experience like this? Very strange. The car has never ‘acted dead’ initially and then been fine. Thanks for any info!
