  1. Jon - Yup, that is nuts that you can read an incoming message butnot be able to reply to it. Looks like you have 5 posts now. Maybe you have reply status now. Or maybe they mean more than 5 and you will have to post one more time.
  2. This question might best be answered by ScubaDadMiami.
  3. Went out at 6am today to pick up my just married on Sunday son and daughter-in-law to take them to the airport for the start of their honeymoon. Started to slowly roll the car down the dark driveway and it felt awfully cold because all of the windows were all the way down. This is at least the 2nd time I have had this happen. Luckily there was no frost and none of the snow/freezing rain that we are about to get in about an hour.
  4. Scuba - Outstanding! When are you coming back to NC to give us driving lessons?
  5. drdiesel1 - Good to see you back on the forum. I have missed your insightful contributions to technical questions.
  6. Jon - You can fix this by making a few more posts. There are many interesting topics here - find a few and tell us what you like or don't like about your C-Max, or about your experiences or adventures with your car. OR Ashley - You can PM Jon and then perhaps he can reply to you even if he has not made more than 5 forum posts.
  7. Sal and family also appeared in a mid-show commercial break in last week's Big Bang Theory. We will know the ad was a hit with the target audience if Sheldon decides to get a license.
  8. Spitinuri - Thanks for moving/reposting your excellent suggestions to this thread. I have posted on #5 in this thread and in another thread titled tree debris - and there are other related threads such as Windshield Snow Shield for Leaf/Pine Needle Protection and Cottonwood seeds, leaves and small insects This is an even bigger problem in the Spring when small stuff (e.g., seed pods) are falling from trees. The debris that acumulates in the hinge pocket can cover up the small drain slot and result in a pool of rain water in the hinge pocket area - and it's a pain in the neck to clean this stuff out because it is such a tight space.
  9. Just went to the videotape (DVR). Sal, you and your family are the man and woman and kids!
  10. Battery development may extend range of electric cars article at http://www.rdmag.com/news/2014/01/battery-development-may-extend-range-electric-cars?et_cid=3703299&et_rid=54750806&type=cta
  11. Maxwell Smart says scroll up to message #86 in this thread for the photos.
  12. Do you recall approx when in the game the ad ran?
  13. Two more articles on the same subject: http://www.latimes.com/business/autos/la-fi-hy-ford-solar-car-ces-cmax-20140102,0,3740173.story#axzz2pGBGCwzw http://www.sfgate.com/technology/article/Ford-s-experimental-car-has-solar-panels-on-roof-5107688.php#photo-5669215 [see 2nd illustration for view of concentrator canopy] "Which brings up another unusual feature of the C-Max Solar - to keep the car optimally positioned under the lenses as the sun moves across the sky, the car will inch forward on its own, bit by bit, throughout the day, with no driver required. Some computer programming and sensors mounted on the vehicle do the trick. By evening, the car will have moved about 16 feet. "We would have a 'solar charge mode' that you'd put the car in," Tinskey said. "Over the six or seven hours, it's moving at a very slow pace, because it's matching the sun's movement. And it's all done autonomously." " "Other automakers have tinkered with solar before, but not in this fashion. Audi and Toyota, for example, have used solar cells to run automated ventilation systems that keep cars cool when parked during the heat of the day. [i have asked for this in the How to Make C-Max Better threads.] A top-end model of the electric Nissan Leaf, meanwhile, uses a small solar panel to recharge the car's secondary battery, which powers the computer system and accessories." [Had not heard of this before, but it's a good idea.]
  14. Looking forward to seeing photos of the changes and the sticker. In addition to the changes you noted there may also be new hood seal, changes to front tire wind deflectors, and A-pillar moldings - at least that's what the article describing changes for 2014 said.
  15. Sounds like Consumer Reports and it is. http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/magazine/2014/02/ford-fusion-and-c-max-review/index.htm
  16. Interesting article. Worth looking at for a moment just to see the photo. http://www.hybridcars.com/office-powered-by-nissan-leaf/?utm_source=hyc12042013&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=weekly_newsletter
  17. Fascinating. Are you suggesting that EPA reduced its ethanol in gasoline requirement to free up ethanol for graphene production?
  18. What does this have to do with ethanol in gasoline?
  19. Yup, up about 20 cents per gallon here.
  20. We have not noticed any difference with voice command after any of the upgrades. The worst day I had was when I tried to use it to make a phone call after leaving the dentist. One side of my mouth was numb and nothing I tried to say was recognized. I finally gave up and used the keypad to make my call.
