I have been a C-Max owner since 2016 and this year I replaced my 2013 with a low-milage 2018, which I hope will keep me moving for many years to come.

Interesting. Is yours a US-built car? From what I gather, NL does attach some unusual cars.

Swapping out the 2013 SE for a 2018 SE. The 2013 is staying in the family.

I bought my 2013 C-Max in 2016 and replaced the 12-volt in 2018 and now again, six years to the month later.

Are modern autos designed to be expensive to repair?
IFHP replied to db22's topic in Lounge: C-MAX Hybrid
At a minimum is seems like new cars are designed without regard to servicing the vehicle. I'm currently needing to get the 12-volt battery out of the vehicle and might have to take it to a shop because one of the hex screws the hold in place the panel covering most of the battery is stripped.- 12 replies

Has this happened to anyone else? This has happened maybe five or six time in the two+ years that I've owned my C-MAX. I come out in the morning (or any time of day) and all of my windows are down. However this has only happened when parked at my house, so I'm assuming that I am causing it in some way with the key in my pocket (I wouldn't know how to lower the windows remotely if I had to do it on purpose). Any ideas?

I just changed the 12 volt battery on my '13 C-Max for the first time. It was a little bit of a challenge due to no mechanical latch on the back hatch door, but it worked out. The dealer has suggested that I bring the car in to have the computer reset (1/2 hour labor). I understand that some high end cars do require that the onboard computers be synced with an individual battery, but is that really necessary on a C-Max? What are the risk if I don't do that?
