  1. Hello Admin Robert, Any updates on bringing back the Energi forum? I have bookmarked several discussion threads that I'd really like to read again; right now they are all dead links. Please, can you at least publish a read-only copy of the Energi forum so we can at least view the content? I've tried looking at all the major internet archival sites but they don't have recent copies of the Energi forum before it closed down. Sincerely, Jacob (jtespi)
  2. That's very disappointing. However, if there was really just an issue with one or two people's posts, then why not migrate the forum without those posts? It seems quite silly to not want to migrate an entire forum due to some small differences. At the very least, a read-only archive site should be shared so we can go back and read old discussions we bookmarked.
  3. Hello, forum admin. It's been over 2 years, any updates on the content migration of the C-Max Energi Forum?? There's some important threads that I bookmarked on that old forum which I cannot access anymore. I've tried checking all the online website archival sites (like the Wayback Machine) but I only found a homepage snapshot from 2016. Would there be any way to put me in contact with the (I guess now former) Energi Forum's administrator to see if they have the files? The Energi Forum's URL now goes to a page with an iFrame showing adult content in Chinese. Any updates would be appreciated, thank you. -jtespi (Jacob)
  4. Hey, I almost forgot I had an account on this forum to be honest. Does anyone know what happened to the Energi Forum in more details? I'd really like to read some old threads that were housed over there. Now, if I go to the URL, it shows Chinese adult content in an iFrame. I've tried searching The Internet Archive's Wayback Machine but only found blank snapshots from 2016. I really would like to read some content that was only on that forum. Can anyone put me in contact with the (I guess now former) owner of the Energi Forum?
  5. I also found the unofficial one on the Ford Focus forums back in December. What does your build number say currently?? If you have the official version, there should be no "_PRODUCT" at the end of build number. I went to the Ford owner's website, but it said my system was already up to date and no download links were available.
  6. Nick, how were you able to upgrade to the final factory version of Sync 3 from the unofficial version? I checked the Wifi upgrade section in my car and it said it was up to date. When I checked the Ford website, it said I was up to date and that v2.2 (from the unofficial forums) was confirmed in January/February 2017.
  7. In certain vehicles like the C-Max and Focus, climate controls are not included in the 2016+ SYNC 3 system as Ford thinks it is redundant and not necessary to duplicate functionality of the climate control buttons. Other vehicles like F-150 still have SYNC 3 climate control, it just seems like they are eliminating Sync 3 climate control in their smaller vehicles. That Sync 3 manual you refer to is a generic supplemental manual distributed with all 2016 Sync 3 equipped vehicles; if you look carefully, you should see disclosures/disclaimers saying *if equipped. Yes, I agree it is a disappointment to not have Sync 3 touchscreen or voice activated climate control, especially since 2013-15 C-Max models had it but it was a change Ford made and I don't think they will reverse it. Sync 3 does not have a supported voice command to get to the home screen, unfortunately.
  8. Well in the unfortunate event the upgrade file is corrupt or power is cut/flash drive pulled before the update completes. I actually had a corrupted first part of the upgrade and lost Sync voice control for awhile until I retried that part of the upgrade. So it is pretty resilient/redundant in the upgrade process, but just saying, the worst could happen...
  9. Not to cause alarm, but if the update goes wrong, then it is likely the entire APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) will need to be replaced as it contains the memory modules for the Sync system. It would cost around $500, without labor factored in. Anyways, I upgraded mine to 2.2 and it has been working fine so far except for issues with AppLink. Although I think AppLink's issues are mainly with the FordPass mobile app, I've been signed out a few times and occasionally get error messages 500 and 400. I would say, go ahead and upgrade.
  10. Hi all, I just have a quick question about the heater. In the manuals, if I remember correctly, it said the C-Max Energi had an electric heater while the C-Max Hybrid mostly relies on the engine for heating. Can anyone elaborate more on this? I believe what the manual was trying to say was that both models have an electric heater but the Energi's is more powerful and can heat the entire cabin without requiring the engine.
  11. @FordIVTteam Any updates on anything regarding this AppLink issue? Also with the latest update to FordPass, the app keeps crashing and will not even launch on my Nexus 6P. Does the app development team know about this? I have sent a bug report using the built in Android feedback process. (Strikeout: thankfully latest app update fixed this major issue). Thanks, -Jacob
  12. The issue started happening after the update. I've already tried removing my phone and adding it again and also doing a hard reboot (power and right seek track button). After those actions, the mobile apps would show up for one time (just either AccuWeather or FordPass, never both) before going away. The weird thing is that on Monday all day, AppLink worked perfectly with both apps over bluetooth. I don't understand why it was working fine one day but not the next.
  13. I thought all Fords with nav came with 5 free years Sirius Traffic and Weather? Unless that's not valid in Canada (different terms) or used vehicles aren't covered.
  14. I am not connected to Android Auto when I try to use AppLink. Android Auto would take the place of the apps section, which is normal behavior of course. When I normally connected the phone today, again AccuWeather showed on the screen for a brief second before disappearing. Then tapping on search for mobile apps would say no apps found.
  15. (Not sure why this wasn't posted earlier, anyways) I downloaded the update a few weeks ago and used USB drives to install it. The install appeared fine and AppLink mobile apps worked until last week. When I tried to unpair then re-pair my phone to the car, briefly Accuweather showed up in the mobile apps section (for like a second or two). I wonder if there is some setting I need to change in my phone (Nexus 6P with Android 7.1.1 Nougat) to allow AppLink apps. At the very least I would like to get the FordPass app to communicate with the car so I can have updated odometer mileage and fuel level.
