I just returned from a trip to the east coast and back. I had installed a BrakeBuddy charger and when I stopped after my first days drive the battery was dead. Checked fuse and everything was as it should be. Apparrenty the thing is a waste of money. I took it out and simply extended the power line from the MH direct to the jump point under the hood. Line is putting out approx 14 volts with MH engine running. After driving the next day the car was charged and all was good. No problem rest of trip. Is there any downside to running this way as opposed to having a charge control device installed?

My check was Fed-Exed to the house yesterday.

I was hoping there might be a plug in unit like I used on my 2012 Focus. I guess I will have to splice. Thanks for the responses.

John, what is the info on the tail light converter? Is it custom to the Cmax or universal? I also have a hitch for pulling a small trailer and need to get my wiring hooked up.
-
Has there been a distribution of these yet? Anybody get one yet? Just curious.
I received my check for $550 today. It was delivered by Fed-Ex. It has already been banked and will be applied on top of the next payment.

I just ordered the Thule Aerobars, feet and clips from Rackwarehouse.com. Total cost is $381.85. Shipping was free. Autoanything has the Thule lockset for $35 and change. I will have my kayaks on the car on Saturday.

I installed a Curt 1 1/4" hitch on the CMAX today. It went on very easily. Drilled two holes and enlarged two access holes. Other than that it is simply nuts and bolts. I looked at the torklift hitch and could not justify the extra cost for the few times this hitch will be used. It will be used once or twice a year to haul a small Harbor Freight trailer with my snowblower on it to my mother's house.

Service manager from the dealer just called. He has been in touch with Ford and was told there have been many cases of the upgrade reporting to the system that it has been installed, but nothing was actually applied to the car. I have another appointment on July 10 for the install the upgrade to the MFT. Without my asking he said there would be a car waiting for me to drive while they have mine. My only question is this: Don't they even look at their work before signing off on it? The tech should have seen that nothing was changed.

I experienced exactly the same result after supposedly being updated by my dealer. I tried a master reset. Nothing changed.Hi....I brought my CMAX into the dealer yesterday to perform the update. When I got it back nothing was changed (still just a clock up top and no 'hybrid' screen). I told them the update didn'ty go through and they need to call Ford for help. ANY chance that a master reset just needs to be performed at the end for it to go through? I have a feeling they rushed the end because it was then end of the day.
Thx

Version check says I have DM5T-14D546-AD. Sync site says DM5T-14D544-AD, which it says I already had, was loaded today. I did a master reset and nothing changed. Is there a way to upgrade this myself, or does it have to be done by the dealer? It is a simple computer flash.

I just came from the dealer after oil change and MFT update. I also see nothing different on the screen. The letter said the outside temp would appear there, but it has not. I will download and check the version. I cannot believe that all of these dealers all over the country are that bad.

Link contained a virus and was deleted.
FYI
I apologize for readers having to download this; I naively assumed that it would open in a browser. Perhaps someone can do a better job.

I will be going if it fits my schedule. Miata events tend to fill my summer and fall.Wow so close to the birthplace of our cars, very cool. I guess you will be going?
-
Sure will be a short drive for you to attend the summer event.
Yes, I live 5 miles from the factory the CMAX is built at.

Platinum White in Plymouth, Michigan (between Detroit and Ann Arbor). Just finished my 600 mile tank.

I had the Sony Radio system in my 2012 Focus which was totaled in a crash in December. It sounded nice, but the regular radio in my CMAX, to my ear, sounds just as nice. The Sony system added HD Radio, which I never used, and a subwoofer, which mostly just used valuable cargo space in the rear hatch area. I have a decent Garmin that works just fine. To me, getting the NAV and a fancier radio wasn't worth $1200 when I got the CMAX.

There are four Stan Rogers albums on the USB drive in my car. They get played more than anything else.
-
Until I loaded a USB drive and started using that I streamed audio from my iPhone 4 regularly with no problem whatsoever. I have had a couple instances when the phone did not connect when I got into the car, but it always connected on the next trip. I have never had to redo the Sync connection.

I observed three CMAXs On my trip this afternoon from Pontiac to Plymouth. That is the most I have ever seen on one trip.

Toad Charge from LSL Products - charge line for towing

Thanks. I will not be regularly towing the Cmax, but I want it right when I do. I will put a Toad Charger on it. I am also setting up a Miata to tow flat. That will be my usual tow car. I have been using a dolly for the last several years, but it is getting to be too much for me to move around if I have to take it off the MH.
