Thanks for the pic upload. Helped assure my update was good today.

All are gems worth a smile before or after getting on the freeway. It may not be safe to drive 65 on a southern Ca freeway when traffic is flowing, but no one can make you drive over it. I am good with 62. I get uncomfortable trying to maintain 55 when cars ar going 80. It just feels wrong. Maybe I need a zinger MPG bumper sticker too.

In good faith Ford should offer software/firmware updates at a bare minimum for the duration of the warranty period. Really, they should extend the update flashes as long as software is developed for the system. It costs little to install and may create customer loyalty in a market where customer loyalty is not generally advantageous to the consumer.
-
Absolutely. The is shouldn't even be open for discussion by FMC or a dealer. If the hardware can't load or run the software than it is defective and falls under the bumper to bumper 3year 36k fix or replace deal we signed up for buying a new car from dealer.

I wonder why they didn't go with 15 or 16 inch rims if they will fit around the rotors and calipers. The standard prii still sport 15" meats.

I got my Max on 2/2/13. I am in Costa Mesa. I know that a few members on the Energi site have attempted flashes at the dealership and were disappointed with the results. I will get up to Villa Ford, where I purchased the car in the next month or two for the TSB if I can verify that members here or on the Energi site can actually get their systems updated with a the newest and hopefully not too buggy version. Hope that some pre 2/6 build owners have success with the 3.5.1 reimage before I make a fruitless dealership run where no useful information is gleaned and time is wasted. Yep. Ford needs to make it work with the Hybrid and Electric vehicles that have just been and are now being brought to market. Making it work mean putting the right face on and the best foot forward to ensure postive ownership experiences and market feedback in the form of our relevant user beta.

http://fordcmaxenergiforum.com/topic/981-hid-retrofit-from-europe/?do=findComment&comment=5182 Thread on the Energi forum. A member is elbows deep in an HID retrofit using lights and hopefully a harness that works from Europe. -

Thanks. It helps. I have been trying to get my finesse Karate kick down, but I still get the clunk trunk. No big deal. It was bothering me at first, but I am sure a software fix will arrive for the sleeper cell. I was a bit scared by ceemax71's post about there being no flash for pre 2/6/13 build date cmaxes. His post said the the 3.5.1 version will not stick in the earlier builds. If this is true than I assume it is a hardware issue for the earlier builds that IMO needs to be replaced in good faith, because the software is rather hard to manage and prone to frozen screens and reboots. with or without devices in the USB ports. Again, hopefully a good software patch will cure the ills.

Not sure if its the Ipod classic or I just need the flash, but my hands free nav is a non syncing stinker. Freezes screens and has blacked out and rebooted during navigation a couple of times. I guess I need to go and try to get flashed. I also have a kick liftgate that has a 1 in 3 failure rate when it just unlocks. Car is awesome despite the problems with the liftgate/nav package. Hoping the right software/firmware Ford team can give us some coding that will be the ultimate fix.

Which Electric Buffer/Polisher to Get?

If you go above $100 and want a cord go PORTER-CABLE with a Lowe's coupon found in post office change address packets. My Friend used the big DeWalt when he was a pro. He used it for fiberglass RVs. I borrowed his DeWalt and Bonnets for my huge Glass Shell on my 8' F 1-150 Mongo Shell, before gas prices took that guzzler the way of the great Auk and the dinosaurs. I miss the truck and the shell. I had fishing rods and surfboards hanging from its ceiling. DeWalt was awesome for that oxidized white gelcoat, but way too beastly for our little Cmaxes. If you want a cheap rechargable cordless waxer buffer that can do minor paint repairs (small scratches and dull paint areas) with a bit of cutting compound and a pad, this one is great with an extra SM Arnold pad or two if you can find it online for around $40: http://www.amazon.com/Tooluxe-TL-10664L-Super-Duty-Cordless-Polisher/dp/B002P5416M/ref=pd_sxp_f_pt I got a white car after owning a few midnight blue and black cars. I have grinded, sanded and polished a few surfboards with Milwaukees and used the above mentioned DeWalt, but honestly those are powerful sander/grinder/buffers that require a very light touch. I prefer to stay on the turds and regularly wash and wax, because I am afraid of burning through the paint when trying to correct a blem with a high speed unit. They really require professional level skills to avoid taking off the clearcoat or worse. -
I am still debating the two. Good to know that the slightly more difficult CURT install was without hiccups. How long did it take you? I have purchased a couple of Curts from etrailer, but I noticed autoanything has a 15%off coupon. The Curt's install pdg is way better than the hidden hitch/draw tite instructions. The only thing I don't like about the Curt other than the 1.25" vs TORKLIFT 2" is that Curt requires the use of stabilizer straps on the 1.25" hitches or the warranty is voided when using it as a cargo or bike hauler rather than for a trailer. That said I have had CURTs on a Prius and an xB and never used straps for my bike rack and never had an issue. I also trailer an AL trailer for fishing kayaks, but without a wiring harness that will wait. Is the Curt discrete? Says it is concealed and looks to be so on the MFG's PDF. Sensors are a combo on the bottom and rear on the bumper. Sorry to hear about your Sandyfied fit. Congrats on the Cmax, does it compare at all in fun to drive factor with the Fit?

Looks nice. Wish CA would let us go darker on the front sides. Seems like a large percent of the drivers in SoCal do it anyways. I am thinking or doing limo tint on the hatch and rear sit windows and whatever is legal on the front sides.

Tighter hairpins than Mt. Baldy road? I gotta check that out some weekend. Keep the Faith! With the comfort and handling, wife and I will be happy with the low to mid 50s here in SoCal.
