I am new here. So happy this forum exists! I just scheduled a visit to have 4G modem installed. Over the phone, the dealer quoted $340 for the modem kit. Two other dealerships i called wanted nothing to do with this recall - didn't provide cost, and said it would take "couple of months" for the next available schedule slot. My visit is in two weeks, will let you know how it goes. Cheers

I just had it done today.  I tried activating FordPass and nothing happened.   I called Ford's customer service for FordPass and they said it was the dealers responsibility to ensure that it was working before they returned the car to me.   I have a call in to them.

eta:  My point is, tell them to set it up before you pick it up.

  2. You might try putting the wipers in "service position" and see if that resets things:

Turn on ignition (or press button so radio etc comes on). Wait a few seconds then turn off.  Now (within 3 seconds) press down the wiper stalk (as though you are doing a single wipe). Hold down for a couple of seconds. Wipers should now move into the service position in the middle of with windshield.    They will return to regular position when you next start the car.   This is also how you change the wiper blades.

  3. Congrats!   As others have commented, you need to figure out the trim package it came with.  My 2014 has the 303A package, which includes pretty much every available option (although I think there were a couple of option not included in the 2013 packages that had to be purchased separately).

There is a sticker on the bottom of the power tailgate (visible when open) that shows how to operate the Hands Free action  (with the fob in your pocket, move your foot front and back under the center of the rear license plate, not side to side.)  Also, that black piece on the windshield in front of the rearview mirror is where the rain sensor is stored, and since you have that, I believe you have the automatic wipers.    I see that you have the little round sensors on the bumpers so I also think you have the parking assist.  Does it have NAV?   Are there any buttons at the bottom of the center stack with "Auto P" or "P" on them?     Also, the fact that you have the panoramic roof makes me think you probably have everything.  It was the most expensive option available.

My steering wheel has never “vibrated”with ICE in warmup mode. Do you mean the steering wheel moves back and forth?  Does it vibrate with ICE starting up if starting ICE by pushing accelerator to floor in Park? Or do you have to be moving? The steering is electronic (EPAS).  EPAS has self correcting steering usually due to crowns in road to keep the track straight.  I wonder if it’s a failing steering rack / position sensor (electric motor is part of rack) which may be exacerbated by ICE running when cold in warmup mode.

It vibrates with the engine noise, at idle, driving or coasting; It's a little like driving on rumble strips.  The vibration stops when the ICE turns off.

  5. Mine is a 2014, with 55K on the clock and probably on the original spark plugs.  I don't use the ICE very much - maybe twice a week I go farther than 20 miles in a day, at least this time of year.

When the engine is cold - like overnight cold, the ICE starting up causes the steering wheel to vibrate like crazy and the engine noise is noticeably louder. Once the car is warmed up, the ice goes on and off pretty much undetectably.    I think I noticed it somewhat last winter, but it seems  worse this winter

It also seems worse worse with outside temps in the high-30’s all the way to mid-50s’ outside temp.

I'm thinking I'll take it in to the dealer, but I thought I'd ask - anyone have a suggestion or similar experience with their C-Max?  Is it normal?

I have 25,000 miles on our OEM Michelin 2013 tires, which were made the 45 week of 2012.  At an oil change two weeks ago they were measured at  4/32-6/32.  The car is 95% used in-town and I plan on replacing them with Michelin tires at the next Costco sale, probably the Premier A/S.  Good mileage is not an important requirement anymore, but being reasonably quiet is.

Any other recommendations would be appreciated.

I'm thinking about these.  I notice the Michelins went on sale today.    If you get them, can you post about how quiet they are?   Thanks.
