Just curious. I've taken my car in several times now for the updates, headliner recall, hatch reprogram, fine tuning the alignment, fine tuning body panel gaps, and soon I'm going to take it in to check out the AC compressor noise.
All of this work was done under warranty, but they've spent considerable labor hours.
Do the dealerships get compensated by Ford for warranty related work? Is warranty work frowned upon by dealers and not given as much attention as customer who paid for their repairs?
Thanks

Did it reduce or eliminate the noise after they topped it off??

does the texting feature work with the GS4? I'm looking at http://support.ford.com//sync-technology/device-compatibility-sync-myford-touch
and according to that, the GS4 doesn't have text compatibility

Hello,
I have the old Iphone 3gs. Everything works fine except for the not being able to send or receive texts on MFT.
I'm in the market for a new phone right now and am seriosly considering the Galaxy III or IV or a new Iphone 5.
What do you guys have and do all the MFT features work on your phone?

My update failed at North Central Ford in Dallas. SA stated that all their update attempts have failed on all other cars. I think its primarily user error.
Anyways their solution is to order and replace with a brand new APIM. My understanding is the apim is the cpu that controls all of the mft/sync funtionality.
Anyone else had to do this?
Got my car back with a new APIM. Initially my SA told me that i would have 3.1.3 and not the new version on it. I was annoyed. I was planning on taking to another dealership.
To my surprise when I picked up the car, it had 3.5.1 installed. Not sure if the new APIM had it preloaded or the tech tried the update with a new APIM.
Regardless, everything is working flawlessly with no issues.

I could have sworn that it used to beep when I was pulling into the garage alerting me of objects in front of car? But I don't appear to get this anymore.
Does the SEL with the 302a package have front parking sensors?

for those with Nav does this also include the A4 update?

I think i figured out the two kick problem.
When the car is Locked. You have to kick and take a step back. It think this is a safety function so that i doesn't hit you on the way up.

My hatch is higher on the driver side than on the passenger. I tried adjusting the little black rubber adjustment stoppers on the hatch but it doesn't seem like the its making much difference.
It can either be the hatch door is misaligned, the car body frame is misaligned, or the hinges or even the hydraulic mechanism.
Do you have some details on what the dealer did to make the adjustment??

I'm in Dallas and my commutes are 25miles each way. approximately 75% highway with moderate congestion. and the rest in inside streets.
I have 1900 miles and my lifetime average is 48 mpg. I drive it gently, but not obsessively so. In fact i'm starting to drive it more like a normal car lately.
The MPG definitely increases when its warmer. I think you'll see better numbers once it starts warming up.

Yes I locked the car ( I'm pretty sure). Also if one of your doors are not closed completely the approach lights also will stay on.
-
Actually it doesn't auto shut down all the lights at shutdown under certain scenarios. Example you have your headlights on (not the auto position). You power car down, headlights do get shutoff. However, even with doors locked etc the window mirror and corner lights are still on. I realized it after I found my car with its lights still on after I went into the house. If headlights are on autoposition then yes everything powers off.
That may be another reason why some owners are draining their batteries?
-
are dealers replacing batteries under warranty or are you having to pay for a new battery? Or are they being PIA's and blaming the customer that they left the lights on etc etc?

It is designed to work with just one kick. Two kicks is due to too much force detected on the liftgate(due to a tight/sticky seal or overly sensitive obstruction detector). It should open with just one kick.
What's happening is
- one kick opens latch and door try's to open(albeit minutely)
- sensor detects resistance and it immediately stops. ( hence why it doesn't move).
- second kick continues the opening movement.
I also wonder when the car is locked that the gate lifts too soon before the unlocking mechanism finishes opening. . Hence it not opening when car is locked.
Report problem to dealer/ford so that a TSB can be released.

Post pics. Would love to see the black wheels.

TSB 12-12-06 calls for adjustment of the latch on the hatch lid. Ask your dealer to look it up.
Do you have the details for this tsb? The cause and what is done to fix?
Dealer made some adjustments but the trunk space gap isn't quite perfect. Right side is tighter than the left.
Also, is there a list of all the current tsbs for the c max.

I also believe this is what is happening. It's easy to think your in drive mode when in actuality you're in accessory mode. Keep in mind you are still able to shift in accessory mode.
It goes into reverse gear but no power when gas is pressed. It just rolls down the hill.
Exact thing happened to me and was confused out of my mind. I was able to duplicate it.

Just got mine from park cities ford. White platinum sel 302a.
They're tinting it and will actually drive it out to my house to deliver and sign the paperwork.

I have the sel 302a with the power lift trunk. It will come down try to seat itself but the latch doesn't seem to catch. I'm getting the trunk lift anar message in the display panel.

Any update to this? I'm getting the same problem.
I have the power lift gate. Update.... The my Ford dealer contacted me and said they were ordering a new liftgate latch to see if that fixes the issue.
Doors opening even though locked and car is in motion

Wife was sitting in the backseat, and happened to accidentally snag the door handle and the door swung open while we were in motion!!
The doors auto-locked when the car started movement. I manually locked (pressed the lock button on the driver door) and asked her to try to open the door. She was able to open the door.
This is a serious safety issue. I'm concerned the kids will open the door while I'm driving.
