  1. I'm planning on cleaning out the leaf litter in our car with a pair of chopsticks.
  2. Do you have any photos of what you did? I'm little worried for our new-to-use C-Max when it comes winter as the car is parked on the street.
  3. Totally. The lower grille of the Euro version is much more cohesive than the American version. The post-facelift models are better again.
  4. I don't think so. You have to use Forscan and a OBD-II connector, or do an elaborate set of manoeuvres to reset it.
  5. The front indicator light on my 2014 SEL is out. It still works as an amber driving light, but it doesn't blink when I have my indicators on. Thankfully there's a turn signal built into the wing mirror! I watched a video and managed to get the driver's side headlight housing out. Wasn't able to disconnect the wiring, but no big deal. Had no problem taking out the positioning light or whatever that secondary light is in the same bay as the indicator. Unfortunately I couldn't get the indicator or its wiring harness out. I tried turning it anti-clockwise with increasing amounts of force, but couldn't get it out. Any tips on how to complete this job?
  6. I manged to do it within the last month, but it was a convoluted process and involved signing up, entering my VIN, and then getting redirected back to the front page multiple times. I'll look again tonight and see if I could find the route I took to download 3.10, and put it onto a USB stick.
  7. Salvage yards seem to be a good bet. You can shop for stuff online through sites like car-part.com. My second hand 2014 SEL came without a cargo blind. I bought a replacement from a yard in SD online, and it should be arriving tomorrow.
  8. I'm wondering, is there any danger/downside to resetting the battery life setting in the car without knowing for sure how old the battery is?
  9. So, how is it second time around?
  10. Yeah, I think I might get the battery changed once the kids are back in school and the curve is very flat. My lithium-ion battery jump starter thingo is arriving on Tuesday, so I'll be starting the car every day -- something I usually have to do anyways because of street cleaning. Thanks for the maths. I've been checking it since the jump start and driving it around town for errands yesterday and it seems healthier. SOC was up into the 40s. When the jump starter arrives, I'll try to improve that. The battery may have died because I ran a whole bunch of diagnostic tests in accessory mode the night before...
  11. Sounds mighty tempting because the battery went flat overnight. Needed to get it jump started. I'll probably do this once the pandemic peters out a bit. In the meantime I think I need to get a portable battery charger...
  12. I'm thinking of getting a dashcam for my new/old 2014 Hybrid SEL. Was wondering whether any on this board has bought a dashcam for their car? Has anyone plugged their dashcam into the fuse box so it can record incidents when parked? I know the C-Max has a less powerful 12V battery, so having the dashcam running all the time could be an issue.
  13. Really happy with my 2014 SEL Hybrid I bought a few weeks back. Got a Bluetooth OBD-II thingo and Forscan Lite, and it says the battery age is basically 6 years. I looked at the car's CarFax service history, and I can see it was regularly serviced and checked, but there's no mention of whether the battery was ever changed. Is there a way of figuring out whether it has been changed? I had a quick peep under the floor, and the battery looks really new, but I'm assuming they all look like that because they're not next to the engine and exposed to the elements.
  14. Black Husky liners with a tan interior. It looks pretty good to my eye. We'll see how they hold up with a bit of abuse ... I mean use.
  15. Thanks for the photos. The tan does blend in after a bit of wear. I ended up getting the black because: a) I think the slight colour shift would annoy the heck out of me. b) awful winter slush will be better hidden by black They actually look quite good, although that might just be my mind playing tricks with me. I'll post photos tomorrow.
  16. I'm considering doing this for my new used 2014 SEL with MFT. I think having Android Auto/Apple CarPlay would be a huge plus, especially as I have a backseat driver who has constant Spotify requests. How much did you end up spending on parts for the Sync 3 system?
  17. Thanks, I've upgraded to 3.10. No big changes I can see, but hopefully it'll be more stable. Found the install files on the Ford website. And instructions were clear enough.
  18. Love the RS stripes, and white wheels.
  19. I'm about to buy Husky Weatherbeater liners (front and rear) for my 2014. Not sure whether to get black or tan to go with the Medium Light Stone interior. Definitely need to get something because there's a rambunctious kid who cares not for the cleanliness of the car's interior, and winters in the north east are full of slush...
  20. It's in really good condition. Barely any wear and tear in the interior too.
