I've only recently started reading a lot about the EVAPORATOR DISCHARGE TEMP SENSOR having issues in the CMax hybrid as well as other FORD models; however, I've had a similar issue for at least 5 of the 8 yrs we've had the 2013 Energi. The sensor replacement (now around $20) seems a worthwhile venture with little room to mess things up (unless the new sensor is bad ). It appears I can do this without removing that piece of plastic covering which is blocking part of the sensor head. Can anyone (esp you people who work on this vehicle) tell me if I'm correct? Thx. In the meantime, I'm definitely going to use some canned air on that vent.

Announcing Advance Notice 14C03 Compliance Recall

Thanks for that. Half day is what I thought. We're set up for 8:30, but who knows when they'll start. The service center at Sunrise Ford is so busy. Edit: we're back with a loaner. They said it would be all day at least because it's a very involved procedure. -
Announcing Advance Notice 14C03 Compliance Recall

We're on Step 3 (tomorrow) with our Energi. Since we have a 50 minute trip to the dealer's, leaving it overnight isn't very practical for us (but, we're retired so no demanding schedules--it's our sole vehicle, too). I will report back on time for the job (which is what I was browsing for) in case no one else does so between now and the morning. -
Announcing Advance Notice 14C03 Compliance Recall
rhea replied to Bill-N's topic in Maintenance, TSB's & Recalls
Since I just took my Energi in for this recall, I will tell you what I was told by the dealership. They are required to inspect the joints. If the inspection determines the back/s need/s to be replaced, they will order the part/s. Again, from the dealership, the parts are not yet available. In my case, it appears one seatback needs to be replaced. The letter from Ford was misleading as far as I was concerned. It did not indicate that parts were not yet available, nor did it speak to an inspection to determine need. I was glad that the inspection was required. No one wants to have his car "torn up"--an exaggeration in this case, if not necessary.
