1. Update: Placed my second call today to the dealer to find the latest part status. Never got a return call from the first try, if there is no response today I will notify Ford Customer service and look for another dealer.
2. I don't see this type of error at all. Its slow to update during turns and sometimes freezes but it works well otherwise.
3. One useful Sync feature in fuel prices. Pull the Sync paddle and say "Fuel Prices" and in a minute or so you download a list of the latest info in your area. You could do this on your phone but looking a small phone screen in bumper to bumper urban traffic for directions or fuel prices is not a responsible way to drive. I have been rear ended 3 times in the last 5 years and every instance was from driver distraction. In each instance the first question asked by Police was "Were you doing anything on your phone". I put together a dash cam solution using an iPhone program called "Witness" and an old iPhone 4/windshield mount just as a cya. So when that next person using their cell phone hits me I can show the police a video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqYTANHxYEQ
4. The Hyundai Sonata Hybrid has used Lithium batteries since its introduction as a 2012 model without incident.
5. I have Nav, not certain how this is accomplished otherwise.
6. Are you syncing the clock to GPS? I have not seen the clock problem since changing the time sync source to GPS.
7. When I had my Harley Fatboy it would get mid 40's and some trips my C-Max gets close.
8. Microsoft probably transferred their Vista developers to the Sync project. :)
9. I liked the Jetta for performance, HID, and Fender Audio options. Reasons for not buying the Jetta were small nav screen (although the RNS315 does work well, we have one in our Golf TDI), no leather, and VW's inexperience with Hybrid technology.
10. That behavior would do more to utilize the shutter hardware than what the Ford Engineer described. The sound from the engine compartment sounds like a stepper motor adjusting when you turn the C-Max on/off and you wouldn't need that for purely speed based adjustments. From the way the Engineer described something as simple as a solenoid would do.
11. Early testers are having a hard time getting EPA 45 mpg rated Jetta Hybrid. Looking for a hybrid that balanced performance and fuel economy I considered this and the C-Max. http://www.autoblog.com/2013/02/12/2013-volkswagen-jetta-hybrid-review/ The other critical expectation of the Jetta Hybrid, of course, is that it offers really kick-ass fuel economy. And here, we were disappointed. Our test of the car ran for more than 300 miles over a week of driving, including hundreds of miles on the freeway headed to and back from the west coast of Michigan. We ended up with a figure of 36.2 mpg for our total test period. Even if we take those numbers with a grain of salt – there was certainly a lot of fast driving when we were on back roads, and on the highway, our cruise control tended to be set at 75 mph or higher – they strike us as significantly less impressive than the last set we generated behind the wheel of a Jetta TDI, and less still than the Jetta Hybrid's EPA combined rating of 45 mpg.
12. I am not sure the capless system fills are as consistent as the regular capped. I can go to any RaceTrac and I can't fill beyond 3/4 of a tank with using the slowest fill rate, this is below what you can lock the handle in. If I go to our new Costco the pump nozzle is slightly smaller diameter and fills all the way without any problem.
13. Welcome, you can join Fuelly and you have to record 3 fills before any averages will display.
14. Update from dealer, new part for Fuel Filer Inlet should arrive next Monday. Dealer stated this version has a completely different part # from previous versions. For those waiting on orders this should mean you will not have to encounter this issue as I would expect the new part is now installed on customer cars in production. I will post new part # and service info from my ticket as soon as its installed.
15. Brand-new for the 2013 model year, the C-Max hybrid boasts better fuel economy than any in its class other than its plug-in hybrid sibling, the C-Max Energi, and it bests even that version's resale values. The 2.0-liter engine in combination with the electric motor puts out 188 horses, giving the C-Max performance not typically seen in a hybrid. 17. Its definitely not 390. Truedelta.com lists the power at 100 watts and that sounds about right to me. A 400 watt system is more like this; http://www.fender.com/news/cnet-names-fender-premium-audio-best-sounding-car-stereo-of-2011/
18. I called my dealer about this today. They stated the latest redesign is still on national back order.
19. Good news, let us know if you get the new version of Sync.

There are likely many marketers that can meet the Top Tier requirements but for whatever reason choose not to get certified.

Just filled at Costco this weekend, first time I could completely fill the tank since my Filler Inlet problem.
21. Read more: http://www.autonews.com/article/20130205/RETAIL07/130209944#ixzz2K44SkEX0 DETROIT -- More than 900 dealers, about a third of the Ford-brand dealer body, will be certified to sell Ford-brand plug-in vehicles by spring, the company said today. That number of EV Certified Dealers has grown from about 200 dealers in November and is ahead of where the company projected it to be. EV Certified Dealers have to meet special certification requirements in order to be allowed to sell Ford-brand plug-in vehicles. Ford currently offers two: the Ford Focus Electric and C-Max Energi. A third plug-in, the Fusion Energi, goes on sale later this winter. Ford attributed the spike to increased demand for the electrified vehicles. “Research indicates that 60 percent of new-vehicle shoppers are considering hybrid vehicles. With this demand for more fuel-efficient vehicles, early sales of Ford’s five electrified vehicles has been phenomenal, creating a tremendous amount of excitement among our dealers,” C.J. O’Donnell, Ford electrified vehicle marketing manager, said in a statement. To be certified, Ford dealers must install at least two on-site charging stations, including one in the customer parking area and another in the service department. Dealers must also keep at least one Focus Electric and C-Max Energi on hand for demonstrations. And 80 percent of sales consultants, sales managers, service managers and service advisers are required to take specialized training in vehicle electrification.
22. Sorry to hear about your problem but an air bag unexpected exploding in your face would be far worse especially at highway speeds or when you are merging into a busy freeway.
23. http://www.sae.org/mags/sve/vehic/11705 Large cell compartment for plug-in holds electronic modules, which are (1) battery temperature sensor; (2) junction box; (3) battery energy controller; (4) DC-DC converter controller; (5) secondary on-board diagnostic module. Turning a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) into a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) is more than adding cells to a battery pack, reflashing the controller, and installing a charger. The 2013 Ford C-Max and C-Max Energi are examples of what it takes to develop conventional hybrid and plug-in versions of the same vehicle—that is, many specific parts, software, and validation. Both cars have lithium-ion (nickel-manganese-cobalt oxide) cells, which are chemically very similar. But those in the plug-in C-Max Energi, which has a 21-mi (34-km) EV range, have thicker electrodes and store more energy. Why wouldn’t the C-Max conventional HEV have the same electrode thickness? Because thinner electrodes have less impedance, so the cells (of which there also are fewer) can deliver electric power faster. HEV batteries are a power source for acceleration assist, only minimal EV operation.
