  1. Congrats on finally taking possession of you new Energi, I am jealous for not having the Kahonas to get one myself. Regarding #7 does this happen even when the EV only button is pressed?
  2. What will be funny is when Consumer Reports publishes how they have been unable to duplicate IIHS and Fords claim of beating Prius crash tests. Could get expensive for them. :)
  3. Your best option is ordering the Energi charging circuit parts and using those. I believe the only difference in the batteries is capacity since the traction motors are the same.
  4. Toyota falls short Shoppers looking for a midprice family car will recognize some perennial bestsellers on the TOP SAFETY PICK+ winners' list, including the Accord, Altima and Fusion. One nameplate they won't find is Toyota. The Camry, which is the top-selling midsize car in the United States, and the Prius v, a 4-door hybrid wagon, earn poor ratings for small overlap protection and are the worst performers of the midsize group. The Camry was redesigned for 2012, and the Prius v was an all-new model for 2012. The Camry and Prius v illustrate what can go wrong in a small overlap crash, despite good ratings in IIHS tests that qualify the cars for TOP SAFETY PICK. http://www.iihs.org/news/rss/pr122012.html
  5. Have you seen this video for oil maintenance. The manual says it applies to the Energi only. http://youtu.be/uNclrzdS4Co
  6. Microsoft owns the business desktop space but they have always struggled with small form factor hardware integration. I did Systems Integration for years and we always used Unix driven hardware SBC's to interface with corporate Windows networks. My previous company wrote the software that controlled the fuel loading for the Space Shuttle at Nasa and their Mars Rover booster rocket test bed. All these systems were Unix based. What OS is Microsoft using to control the C-Max, Windows Mobile? Just found some additional info on the Sync OS, looks like the latest version is based on Windows 7. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Embedded_Automotive
  7. Sounds like a good plan, I got X-Plan on my deal through the wifes work.
  8. Consumer Reports used combined mpg as the comparison number while failing to address the Prius C much larger city discrepancy. Consumer Reports in the interest of fair reporting should have expanded the numbers to include the largest city and highway discrepancy by Brand/Model but chose the path of paid advertising media to report only what made the C-Max look the worst.
  9. Its not you, the software used to host this forum has numerous bugs.
  10. I have noticed the fill inconsistency that I believe is related to capless fill inlet. I reset the Trip 1 with every fill and make a note of how much fuel has been consumed since the last fillup. Next if the pump shuts off before the gallons consumed is below what the trip meter reads I continue to squeeze the pump handle until the numbers are close. Never has the gas over filled using this method. As always your results may vary.
  11. Your C-Max has two ways to move, a gas engine and electric motor. If your battery has enough charge the gas engine will shut off, using no gas, and the electric motor will move the C-Max. With the gas engine off its consuming no fuel and the C-Max fuel gauge registers correctly that no gas is being consumed.
  12. Can you post a photo of the install?
  13. I just completed a 400 mile road trip and attempted to duplicate the low mpg numbers the press is reporting. My mpg dropped to 32 mpg by setting the eco cruise at 80 mph. 75 mph is 36 mpg, and 70 mph is 40 mpg. Impressive mileage at such speeds and the C-Max felt as if there was plenty of power to spare. As a reference my Passat TDI will average 39-38 mpg at 80 mph on diesel fuel (10% more energy and 30% more expensive) and has similar weight/size class to the C-Max. Both have a 2.0 liter engine. Calculating the cost per highway mile @ 80 mph of TDI vs C-Max yields the same .09 per mile. Drop below 80 mph and the C-Max price per mile starts drop below the TDI.
  14. Not too nice, you definitely don't want to appear too anxious especially on a trade in. They always need to believe you will walk if they don't deliver what you agreed to.
  15. Keep us up to date on the big arrival. Interested in hearing your first Energi review from a technical viewpoint.
  16. I noticed how Consumer Reports glossed over this large discrepancy in the Prius C city mpg and only compared the combined average for their criticism of the C-Max.
  17. Cool, I don't get the EV range on the the regular C-Max. Still would be a nice feature to have.
  18. Have the Administrators check their messages more often. I have been trying to get an answer for a board problem with no Admin response to messages.
  19. My Passat requires recycle air be turned on everytime the car is started. I always thought it was a safety issue to ventilate the car on start.
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QCDOlIIqHg At least Microsoft is consistent across all platforms. ;) http://www.informationweek.com/windows/microsoft-news/microsoft-says-6000-jobs-open-wants-more/240008011 By contrast a number of manufacturers are going this direction. http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20121127/AUTO0103/211270323 http://apple.slashdot.org/story/12/02/27/2224205/siri-to-power-mercedes-benz-car-systems
  21. Definately an IPS bug, the Version setting is associated with your user profile in the IPS database. I can logout and the view returns to normal, logon and it returns to mobile. Read on another IPS board where the only option is for an admin to reset you account. I have sent a message but who knows when they will respond.
  22. You should have her in your hands by tomorrow?
