Ford Says It’s Talking to EPA About Hybrid Mileage Tests

The diesel sound at highway speed is addicting, love pulling into truck stops (Loves) for fuel next to the big rigs. -

TDI's equipped with manual transmissions will beat the DSG highway mileage with their lower final drive ratio. Currently there is a 30% price difference in D2 and RUG so my C-Max at 32 mpg costs the same per mile as my Passat TDI at 40 mpg. -

Buggy IPS code duplicate post -
You may have 3.5.1 installed on delivery. Manufacturers usually load an upcoming release prior to customers getting updates. I have had few problems but I updated to the latest firmware from syncmyride.com within a few days of ownership. You will find some usability issues that are annoying, like defaulting to home screen if you stop for gas.

My Jetta TDI would average about the same at 75 mph. My C-Max gets about 35 at 75 and drops to 32 at 80. -
You must be using iOS.

Where will YOU be when the world ends 12/21/12?
darrelld replied to Jus-A-CMax's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
I will be in my C-Max headed to the the company Christmas party. -
This IPS forum code is the worst I have seen. Unintended double post, no delete, non mobile clients default to mobile once you log in. Back on topic, I see the same mileage differences in my Passat. Usually 1-2 mpg higher on the dash than the Fuelly calcs.

Same problem, add to that I am stuck in Mobile view no matter the platform I connect.

Warn people that the Full Version link doesn't work and if you ever click the Mobile view there is no way back. Read where this is a bug with the IPS software. -

Do you have any Regrets in Buying the C-Max
darrelld replied to NCtoCAgirlie's topic in Buying, Order and Leasing
The only slight regret I have is not going for the Energi model. -
Consumer Reports gives insight into their testing methodology and why the discrepancies exist between how they test vs the EPA. http://news.consumerreports.org/cars/2012/12/why-do-fords-new-c-max-fusion-hybrids-ace-the-epa-government-fuel-economy-tests.html#_login_v2QuvCbH2YIV3ADoKGBzSUr01kj2ep12vFo6EEYn

Very familiar with hybrid driving techniques prior to my C-Max. Biggest change for me is to get real-time feedback from the driving coach under different driving conditions. One thing I never did before is turn off the climate control when I stop at a light and the engine temp is not within range. There are endless ways to improve economy but an eco climate option like the Volt would help mpg. This could be added as another setting in the left info screen.

Have Solution for Low MPG's but FORD won't lets do it!
darrelld replied to ptjones's topic in Fuel Mileage
I went from the dash reading 48 mpg on my way to work with morning temps in the 60s to 36 mpg with 20s temps. Same route, driving style, traffic, same time of day. -
