  1. Moving up.

Ok, i did it, barely.  2nd member of the 700 club.  And it will get better since about 200 miles of this tank were driven in colder mornings (mid 40s).

For those who track such things, here are the stats.  CMax SE with a bit over 20k miles on it, this tank like most was 90% rural interstate, tires at 45 psi, premium fuel, no mods to car, nealy all on eco cruise, mostly flat.

  2. Hi Homestead.  I think it did reset the trip readouts, but not the lifetime.  I track mileage tank by tank, and noticed a change in the way the engine reacted to driving situations and the actual at the pump mileage bumped up roughly 1.5 mpg.

  3. I was having issues with the window unrolling problem early on and Ford decided to reflash at least a portion of the internal software.  Immediately afterwards i got about 1.5 mpg increase in fuel economy.  Bought my SE in October so it was one of the early production models and the reflash took place in about January.

  4. Take heart, mileage will improve with age, not just temperature.  I commute 130 miles per day on the interstate, nearly flat.  Early mileage numbers were deeply disappointing, made worse by electronic system over reporting mileage compared to calculations based on gas station pump.

i'm now at 14.8k and mileage is still climbing.  So far best 60 mile leg at 55mph on eco cruise is 56.1 mpg.  At refueling tonight with 1/8 tank remaining got 513 miles, 10.6 gals for 48.5 mpg.

  5. I've had this happen 6 times now overnight, 3 of which were rainy.  Turns out to be a feature designed this way.  Push the unlock button on the key fob, release it, the push and hold it again for several seconds.  All the windows will roll down.  Turns out this process works brilliantly when the keys are in your pocket and you are bending over, squishing everything together.

My best guess is that people in hot climates can use this to roll down the windows and cool off the car.  Sadly Ford does not allow this "feature" to be deprogrammed or turned off.  Dealer checked out my electronics & reflashed the system, no change.

A partial solution is to reduce the number of large keys you keep on your keyring.
