  1. Come on! We need more Blue Candy people!!! And I'm surprised at how clean looking it stays between baths! The road dust just rolls right off!

    The blue is hard to resist. It's interesting how different it looks in every lighting situation though. Some it's too light for my tastes in others it's perfect. Black would be boring but idk. I'm really excited about the car. I don't think I'll waste money on renting one I'm sure this will be my next car.

  2. Adair, you are really optimistic.  If you haven't worked out the details ahead of time buying a new car at a dealer can be a long, grueling day.   When I bought Ruby I had the car and price hammered out before I walked in and I was still there for 4 hours.

    Whoa. You went in the day before and it still took four hours? Hell. I've bought two cars and neither took that long.

  3. My Ford Touch does NOT have AppLink.  So for example, you can't thumbs up or thumbs down a song in Pandora through MFT.  If you have the non-MFT Sync, then you can.

    In both systems once you have the phone connected over bluetooth, the sound will come through the car.

    Fords site says the cmax has applink. Under the technology page.

  4. Hi Maxed, welcome to the forum!

    I bought mine through the Ford Store in San Leamdro off Marina. I couldn't be more happy with the dealership and the experience. I was able to buy using X-Plan pricing and used both the public and the private rebates available at the time. The private rebate you get If you order a brochure from the Ford website and they send a hard copy in the mail. I dealt with Gordon in fleet sales who was over the top with professionalism and customer service. I ordered my Max on Feb 6th and took delivery on April 2nd. We did all the paperwork on April 1st (LOL) to take advantage of the public rebate that expired on the 1st. Because of x-plan and the rebates I felt I got an excellent deal without any haggling --which I do not do well at. I've also am working with Gary in the Service department who has exceeded my expectations for customer service; that story is another discussion, but the net is he has worked very hard to assure I am 100% happy.

    Overall my experience with them has been one of the best I've encountered, with the huge caveat -when I was ready to buy-- I called made an appointment and worked directly with Gordon Reynolds their Commercial Account Manage in fleet sales and avoided the sales floor guys. I had already checked out and test drove the car and knew exactly what i wanted so when I called Gordon, I simply made the appointment to go in and place the order. He kept me fully informed and when the car arrived he had everything ready when I went in to do the paperwork and had the car ready when I picked it up a day later. My suggestion is if you still want to check out the car and test drive, just let the floor guys take care of you. But don't buy that day. When you make the decision to buy, call and make an appointment with Gordon. He will sell the car at a fixed price if you're a retail customer e.g the fleet sales price, in fleet sales they don't haggle/negotiate, it's a fixed price, but since I had X-Plan, even made it easier.

    Sorry if the posted is a bit jumbled, I'm doing this on my iPhone...:-). If you have additional questions send me a private mail.

    Best regards, Dale

    That's awesome! I'm glad you had a great experience. I'm going there to get work done on my current car. Hoping to test drive whole I'm there. It's funny you mention haggling. My dad is really into that. I on the other hand suck. So hopefully he will help me with that. My plan is to follow your lead. Test drive, rent then order if I like the test drive and rental. I'll definitely hit up Gordon when I'm ready.

  5. hiya maxed, there's an Energi forum over at http://fordcmaxenergiforum.com/, but most of us read both forums since there's little difference between the vehicles.

    The 21 mile EPA rating for a full charge is pretty accurate, but it will vary based on conditions. In colder weather, I typically saw 15-17 miles when running the heat. With mild spring weather, the estimate is up to 25. In the heat of the summer, AC will probably drop it back down to 21ish.

    If your daily drive is reasonably short, and you don't need a ton of cargo space, the Energi is a great vehicle. All the comfort of the C-Max, plus you can get absurdly high MPG on average. (My lifetime total is just below 60 now, but the last tank was over 80)

    That's great thank you. People on this forum have been really helpful and nice. Loving it.

  6. Hey Maxed, I replied in one of your other threads, I found one to rent from Hertz at the Oakland Airport :-). Just walked up to the counter and asked to rent it when I saw it on the lot. It was just pure coincidence as I was there returning a business rental from National when I the C-max on Hertz's lot...

    That was pretty lucky hopefully when i call they'll have one. Thanks for replying :)

  7. What is the "X Plan" and where do I find out about it?

    We are AAA and Costco members and were going to use that to get my wifes CMax SEL 303a

    Has anyone here used the AAA or Costco no haggle price option to buy a CMax? if so please report

    X plan is a special pricing plan offered from ford. Some places of employment sign on for x plan and give access to their employees as a benefit. Usually x plan takes off up to 2k.

  8. I haven't had any trouble syncing my Iphone 4S (with one exception: a couples times it didn't sync when I started the car.  I just activated voice, and said "phone", and was told "Sync is trying to connect to a phone"  then it connected).  You can't message with the Iphone through Sync itself, as far as I have experienced, but if you hold down the button on the phone to activate Siri, she will deal with you via the car mic/speakers, and anything she can do when you hold her in your hand she can do through the car (found that out by accident).

    I'm not too concerned about using the phone. I just want to access my music and Spotify without holding the phone. The C Max has sync app functionality right?

  9. Walked on the lot at 4pm and the car was ready. All the paperwork was done Monday, so we went right to the car and went through the dealer checklist, then I went through mine. After my rep walked away, I spent an hour in the car playing before I left the lot . So many thoughts, but the net is I'm super happy with the car. I've had a couple high end vehicles in recent past and I have never been more happy about a car purchase than this.

    It had 15 miles on it. I reset everything before leaving, drove about 51 miles and my average is already 41, I couldn't be more pleased.

    Just one issue :-(. I got home and waiting for my partner, I caught in the light 4 scratches above the driver door handle. Argh...called the dealer immediately and he said bring it in and they will take care of it. This is one of those things I will look at again and may decide to live with it since correcting it means some paint work, which I'm afraid may be a bigger hassle than its worth. So I will make that decision tomorrow

    I'll post pics when I get to a computer.

    Dale

    I see your from alameda, I live in Oakland and was wondering where you purchased your max and what you thought of the dealer? Thanks

  10. You can get X-Plan pricing with the current Private Cash Offer of $750 plus the current incentive of $750 (Hybrid only).  There may be other applicable incentives like military, police and so forth that can also be tacked on.  Also, remember that X-Plan limits the dealer Fees to $100 where normally these fees are around $395. So, that generally saves about $295 over Truecar, Costco and other buying services.  So, if negotiating with the dealer you would have to beat these discounts available under the X-Plan.

    The last time I checked (April 9th for a Wisconsin zip code shown below), the discounts using X-Plan would be about the numbers shown below:

    SE = 1092 + 750 (incentive) + 750 (private cash) = 2592 + 295 (dealer fee savings) = 2887

    SEL = 1270 + 750 (incentive) + 750 (private cash) = 2770 + 295 (dealer fee savings) = 3065

    Energi = 1528 +  750 (private cash) = 2278 + 295 (dealer fee savings) = 2573

    Wow thanks. Y'all are so helpful. I still need to take it on a test drive. I'm going to try and sneak one in when Im there to get breaks for the focus. Hopefully they won't be too pushy. That's a major turn off.

  11. I ordered in January and got the standard $750 retail customer cash.  At signing they threw in another Ford $750 incentive that I didn't know about.

    Others have posted that they were able to use the X plan for the C-Max.

    Awesome thanks for your input. :)
