TSB 13-8-11 INTERMITTENT INOPERABLE FRONT CONTROLS INTERFACE MODULE (FCIM) BUTTONS WITH MYFORD TOUCH LESS SONY BRANDED FCIM FORD: 2013 C-MAX, Escape ISSUE:Some 2013 Escape and C-Max vehicles equipped with MyFord Touch less Sony brand may have intermittent inoperable FCIM buttons. ACTION:Follow the Service Procedure Steps to correct the condition. SERVICE PROCEDURE Does the vehicle have a Sony branded FCIM? Yes - this article does not apply. Refer to Workshop Manual section 415-00 and perform normal diagnostics. No - proceed to Step 2. Did the customer state the concern was intermittent, the steering wheel controls and touch screen continue to operate the radio, and/or the FCIM functionality recovers with a key cycle? Yes - proceed to Step 3. No - this article does not apply. Refer to Workshop Manual section 415-00 and perform normal diagnostics. Is Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U0256:00 present? Yes - proceed to Step 4. No - this article does not apply. Refer to Workshop Manual section 415-00 and perform normal diagnostics. Reprogram the FCIM using IDS version 86.02 or higher to correct the condition. WARRANTY STATUS:Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage IMPORTANT: Warranty/ESP coverage limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB.
