Just thought I'd share this. A few weeks ago, I had the driver's side reverse light bulb burn out on my 2013 Ford C-Max SE. I was a bit apprehensive about changing it as I didn't want it to be a big project. However, it was extremely easy to swap out the bulb by removing a small panel on the tailgate and then unscrewing a plastic screw. The entire assembly lifted free from the tailgate and I was impressed by the overall simplicity of the process.

This one is weird. DW went to leave recently and upon opening the door to the garage we saw that the interior and parking lights were on as if a door wasn't fully closed. As she walked past the car to get in she happened to touch the headlight and all the lights went out! The car started just fine and all has been normal since. I didn't think to check the 12V battery voltage but the lights appeared normal brightness. No idea how long the lights had been on or why. (Was it too spooky in the dark so the car turned on some night lights?) Or why touching the headlight made them go out - coincidence just seems too remote. Perhaps static? Has anyone else had anything like this happen?

The OBDII data lets us read current out of the DC-DC convertor so power used by various things can be determined by switching then ON and OFF. Consider these as "ballpark" values as current out of converter constantly jumps around by up to +/- 4 amps. Will add various items to this post as they get collected. ReadyTo-Run: About 200 watts - nothing else turned on. Outside Lights: Parking/Low Beam/High Beam = 75 / 220 / 363 watts Inside Roof Lights: Insignificant, can't measure, certainly less than 10 watts Heater Fan: Speeds 1 / 3 / 5 / 7 = 25 / 50 / 130 / 220 watts Seat Heaters: Both set to '1' = 145 watts Power Steering: 45 to 110 watts from HVB (not DC-DC). Measured sitting on concrete while turning wheel +/- 1/4 turn at about one cycle per 2 seconds, then 1 cycle per second (the higher reading). Surprised it was so low but expect it could be a lot higher on the road (?) since its powered from the HVB.

Has anyone seen the instrument lights get brighter and dimmer as you drive - all on their own? Or am I just ignorant about something? We've been riding for several hours (SE model), parking lights on, instrument lights fully dimmed (usual position) and I decide to switch the left screen to Fuel History. Fine. After several minutes I look down and see the car switch to EV and the instrument lights suddenly get brighter! A few minutes later they go dim again. This happened several times. I checked the dimmer setting and it was always at minimum. I hadn't been on this screen for ages and had never seen this happen before - on other screens. Was this some programmers "easter egg" to highlight going into EV? Only on this screen? But no, at other times EV came on with no change in dimming. I tried other screens and came back to Fuel History. It happened again. I never saw it happen on another screen (coincidence?). The change looked the same as when you turn the car lights on and off (which I wasn't doing). "Trivia post of the day" perhaps, but can anyone explain this behavior? (My wife saw it too, so I'm not calling the eye doctor!)
