A new issue has come up. Over the past 4 days, every time we turn the car on / start the car, the automatic climate control comes on. We always turn the air conditioning / climate control off before every shut down so the car will not have to start while powering the air conditioner and associated compressor and fan during the start, but no matter what we do, the air conditioner always comes on MAX AC at our last temperature setting with the Automatic climate control. This happens no matter if it is 60 or 90 degrees out, and 5 seconds to 15 hours between start up/ shut down, so temp or time doesn't seem to affect it, it just does it every time. Any one else had this problem and any way around it? Thank you for the advice!

Well I started out my last tank when the temp was 78F. I was getting stellar mileage The above was from a round trip just after filling up but it was not to last  The last couple of days winter decided to return Argh. Temps dropped to mid 40's and so did my MPG. Last I looked it was down to 45.8 MPG for the tank. I really am looking forward to getting some warm weather and sunny days! I am not sure how I will cope with winter mileage next year... First gotta get into the Summer. Thanks for listening to my whining! Now if Ford would just come out with 3.5.1, whoops that's a rant for another thread ;) !

I compared my ScanGauge WT numbers to the CMax water temperature gauge. It turns out that the bottom line on the CMax WT gauge represents 140 degrees F. The middle line represents 178 - 211 degrees F (211 was the highest I could get the ScanGauge to go to at 80mph on the highway! and ruined the c**p out of my mileage!). I do find it odd that the gauge did not move for 31 degrees. The outside temperature was 54 degrees F, Wednesday we are to reach 63 and will try again. Keep in mind that I have both grill covers installed. I mentioned earlier about the Hotline Assistance Request and here it is: To emphasize "The thermostat is fully open at 202 degrees, so normally the engine should be approximately 202-212 degrees (again depending on the conditions present and if the engine is operating at that time.)" A 50/50 mixture of water/coolant at 21 psi boils at approx 285 degrees F. Note: The coolant reservoir cap has 21 psi stamped on the top.
