roninsd
I have my first reason to go to the dealership service center. :banghead: As I was standing by the front of my car, thinking how cool it looked, I noticed that something seemed wrong with one of my wiper. When I looked closer I saw that one of the wiper blades had disattached from the motor arm. I had gone through a car wash the day before, and figure that somehow it had pulled off the blade. When I looked closer, I saw that the plastic connector on the blade that attaches to the arm was broken. Hmmm, that's not suppose to happen, right? I've used this car wash for years with my other cars, and never had this problem. So i'm taking it into the service dept. tomorrow, hoping they'll say, gee, that shouldn't have happened. Here's a new blade, and we'll attach it for free. We'll see. I'm also hoping I'll get there before it starts raining! (Can't use the wipers, since the one arm would just scrape my window). I am happy, however, that is the first reason I've had to take it in! Edited January 24, 2013 by roninsd

FoutsNC
Just in case it is raining, apply some Rain X. I rarely use my wipers except for the mist from time to time :)
roninsd
Took the car in, luckily no rain. Blade replaced, no charge. Because the C-Max is so new, they didn't have the blade in stock, but had to get it somewhere else in San Diego. They kept the car all day, wanting to check to make sure the motor arm was ok. Free loaner from Enterprise. Whew, everything back to normal.

Joey
Roninsd which dealer in SD did you go to? I am thinking of purchasing here and was just wondering how your experience was?
roninsd
Joey, I got mine at Drew Ford in La Mesa. If you go there, talk with Jeannine. She was very knowledgeable about the C-Max (and Sync), very patient and enjoyable (for a salesperson) :). I think they are really focusing on being customer friendly, not pushy, etc. When I was there for service today, I saw 2 C-Maxes on the lot. There may be more. Chinto
Just curious since you have an SEL model, was the automatic wiper function ON when your car went through the car wash? If the car was left running while it went through the wash maybe that is how the wiper got damaged. The auto wiper is a cool feature any other time except in the car wash. roninsd
That would make sense, Chinto, but no, the auto wiper function wasn't on.
