Roaming
I have a 2016 Energi with ~ 59.5k miles and while getting in the car after work I received the red triangle "Stop Now" warning. The car was parked all day, I have about 88% charge on the big battery and out of the blue it won't turn to run mode. I pulled some codes with my cheap reader and go this with Torqe lite: Historic: U0412 Pending: U0412 P0b37 P2185 Fault: P0a0a U0412 c0564 The 12v items seem to act pretty normal, and I even put a booster back on the jump leads incase the 12v battery was weak but no go. This happened Monday afternoon and even trying it the next day, I am getting the same results. I tried pulling the hybrid battery disconnect and reinserting but that didn't help any. I also cleared the codes once, but I still couldn't get it to start. I think I may be just a couple weeks out of my powertrain warranty so I dreading calling the dealer ( I should have hybrid component warranty left) but I'm guessing that is my next step. Anyone have any ideas? Sean
hunt3rj2
Sounds like it's entirely electrical. Coolant temperature high, battery control module reporting invalid messages, stuff of that nature. Start looking for ground wires that are failing, that can often cause weird behavior like what you're seeing.
