DesmoBardy
I am very much looking forward to taking delivery of our new car. We have had lots of experience with various versions of it over the last six months as I work with a company that supplies training to Ford and I have to say that everyone in the family has been very impressed with it. Like some others here I ordered my C-Max SEL back in November and just recently got notice of the build date. Small irony that it is scheduled to be built on February 18th which happens to be my birthday. Let's hope its a good omen! roninsd
Laurel
Welcome to the forum! We got lucky when we ordered in Vancouver. We ordered about Oct.8th and it was here by November 29th. The birthday of my car was November 8th. We are loving our car, but my goodness the mileage can be all over the map. Today I had one 5 mile run at 4.0 L , another 5 mile run at 5.3 L, and a little 6 block jaunt at 28 L. That last one threw me for a loop--not sure what happened there as the car was nicely warmed up and the temp outside was 10 C. I've never had one that high before. I'm sure it's a good omen in your case too. Happy Birthday early, and we can't wait to hear about your adventures with your new C-Max! Laurel
With all the L's and C's it's almost like your speaking in another language, lol. I wish the US was on the metric system.Canada converted some time in the early 70's believing that it would assist with trading throughout the world, and that the US would soon follow. I still get discombobulated at times. One thing I don't like about it is the GPS when it says "turn right in 250 meters". I can grasp in my mind how far a kilometer is, but "turn in 250 meters" still is abstract for me. I would be better with "turn in two blocks" LOL. Often I mutter oaths to myself with the meter issue. What does the GPS say in the States for turns coming up?

RachelnLa
Thanks! I am on cloud 9. I dunno how y'all slept knowing the car was becoming a reality. I don't think I will ever order a car again. The wait is too hard. I like instant gratification! Adair and roninsd
roninsd
So does this mean that your new car is just sitting with it's nose against the fence, waiting to be united with her new owner, like a dog (or frog?) in the shelter waiting for its forever home? :) Edited February 7, 2013 by roninsd
RachelnLa
Aww what a visual. Yes! My baby is waiting for its forever home! Seriously, I have never been this excited about a car. I usually just drive whatever my husband decides. This one is all my doing. I am very proud of myself for the leg work, haggling and patience!! We have a wedding in the family about 45 miles away in march. The perfect trip to take. Hope my dad drives his too. We are gonna have to plan some road trips to take. roninsd and zhackwyatt

We are gonna have to plan some road trips to take.Yes, this was my first, to build online exactly the way I wanted it, change, add, and delete options until I got it just right. Several times I was sorely tempted to cave and just take the closest thing I could find within 300 miles, but my husband convinced me to be patient and wait it out. I'm so glad I did.You are gonna be soooooooooooo happy, Rachel! roninsd

RachelnLa
Thanks. I keep reminding myself of that. I am a pretty patient person but even this is getting hard. The closer it is the harder it seems. roninsd
