Kidonedatone
I was thinking of painting them the same color as the car. What do you guys think? Too tacky? Otherwise I can wait for some retrofit fogs to toss in there when they come out...
StoBro2
Since my car is black, they already are the same color (well, almost). One of the reasons I chose black was to have all of the contrasting doo-dads blend in a little better.
plus 3 golfer
I'd photoshop them first to see how they might look before painting.

SnowStorm
Has anyone had a problem with these covers popping loose?Ā We lost the right one while driving (heard something but didn't know what at the time) went back later and couldn't find it.Ā This was the same side that received a "minor" deer hit a year ago so thought that might have weakened it causing it to finally let go.Ā Recently, however, I noticed the left cover was loose at the front corner.Ā It looked like one of the plastic clips might have broken but it snapped back so it looked OK but I don't trust it.Ā Back to color - has anyone painted them?Ā I'm thinking about it when I get the replacement(s).Ā Could do without "black eyes" on a white car! scottwood2
No issues with the covers on mine so far but only 9K and 7 months old.
B&B
I did.Ā Seems like I may be the only one.Ā I like the look.Ā This is from my post on Plasti-dip on this site.Ā I have an SEL so it's with fog lights and I have the white platinum color (hard to match) but, it might give you a clue.Ā It's been over a year now and no chipping or pealing issues. obob
jackalopetx
I want to paint mine but it seems very difficult to remove them... Don't you have to remove the whole bumper?Ā I also want to paint my rocker panels. Paint matching should be easy because my car is white
jackalopetx
I painted mine with Rustoleum 2X white gloss. The color is pretty close and you can only tell it's not factory paint in certain light. I think it looks much better than stock. I was originally planning to mask the fake grilles but was too lazy, but I think it looks fine all whiteĀ Ā Use a sharp object to pop out the front edge, then pull outward. Then once the front, top, and bottom clips are popped out, slide the whole thing forward. It takes a lot of force to pull forward and overcome the rear clips.Ā Ā Mine don't seem to pop back in 100%, I guess I did some damage to the clipsĀ Ā Edited July 7, 2016 by jackalopetx

jackalopetx
I want to paint the rocker panels but I can't find any instructions for removing them. Maybe I'll just mask off the rest of the car Edited July 7, 2016 by jackalopetx

cmax-nynj
As an alternative I added aftermarket foglights and covers to my SE.
jackalopetx
I wonder if it would help highway mpg to have smooth covers
