appraiserdude
My ipod touch was working seamlessly with the sync speech commands, until about 2 weeks ago. Now it says "speech commands not available with this device." It still charges, but I can't control it with voice commands, and since the ipod still thinks it is connected to sync I can't even use the manual commands. Now to play my ipod I must put on a playlist or artist, then plug it into the usb, and I can only move back and forth throughout the playlist. After reading the sync forum it appears that the correct fix is to pull the fuse to reset the sync, but I am unsure which fuse controls the sync module. Other vehicle manuals have the sync module listed under the fuse list, but my c max manual has no such thing. Does anybody know which fuse controls the sync module in the c max? asb
I don't know anything about the fuse. But... I stopped using my ipod touch with my Escape MFT because it would cause all sorts of problems and stop playing. I figured it was because I have a first generation Touch. Hatchman
I'd like to know where the fuse is as well. Sync locked up today, twice. None of the buttons would work, no voice commands, etc. Luckily it automatically reset after being locked for half an hour or so. ceemax71
The fuse for SYNC is Fuse 67 in the passenger compartment fuse panel. The owner's manual shows fuse 67 only protecting the Energi cell phone passport. According to the workshop manual, fuse 67 protected components actually are the "Message center module, Navigation system module, Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM), and Telematic Control Unit Module (TCU)". The APIM is the SYNC computer. The TCU is the cell phone module (Energi only). If the SYNC screen is still functional, it might be easier to reset it through the SYNC menu. http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/perform-master-reset-sync-myford-touch Riddley
Riddley
ceemax71, Thanks so much for providing this information!! It pays to have someone in the forums who has the workshop manual, and is not afraid to look things up! My Sync lost the ability to pair with my phone today. I tried everything on the phone side. Now I need to try resetting the sync. I'll report back with results. Thanks again!!
