superseagulls
Hi all! I'm very pleased to be be a proud 'father' of a new Sterling Grey SEL!I have been looking around locally at the (limited) choice at dealers, but found the nice (in my opinion) grey, 302A and light stone interior. No sun roof this time, living in Florida you tend to have it covered all year anyway! I feel I got a spectacular deal, I used my 'Ford X-Plan' discount, and got a great trade value for my 2006 Explorer with 134,000 miles on it - obviously not the most desirable of combinations! Loving the technology, it's amazing what you get these days! I love building up my vine, although with only 120 miles on her, i'm going to need to get some practice in!The only addition I would like to add is a better tint on the windows, the factory one is very minimal! Although being my first Hybrid, being from England originally it may not be the highest mpg I have owned - I used to commute in a Peugot 106 Diesel (1.4 liter), I can guarantee that was not the most exciting car I have ever owned, but it did do 60 mpg !! Look forward to dropping in for tips and news in the future!
mtb9153
Welcome superseagulls nice to have you with us. As a new member you might not of had time to surf around on this forum. You might not be aware that we are in the planning stage of holding a National Owners Gathering Event to be held at a time and date yet to be determined. The place is all we have at this point while Ford irons out the specifics. The plan is to meet at the Ford Assembly Plant where all our C-Maxes were born in Wayne, Michigan. A tour of the plant is planned and a tour of the Ford Proving Grounds nearby in Dearborn I believe. Also there is the idea of taking a road trip up into the Upper Peninsula to visit a popular lakefront resort area off Lake Michigan called Sleeping Bear Dunes. Personally I've never heard of it, but suppose to offer nice views of the lake with sand dunes, great shops and nice places to stay if you have the extra time. Should be allot of fun meeting with other owners, comparing cars, options. Also at the gathering event we have the chance to meet with Ford Engineers who designed our cars. Pick their brains and give them valuable feedback we all are acquiring while driving these wonderful little cars. Will be a long drive for me, I'm in Northern California, but I'm looking forward to doing it. Has been a long time since I drove across the US, got in too much of a hurry and always fly to where ever I'm going. Anyway think about it and if it sounds like fun, will be fun to meet you in person. Take care and enjoy the ride. TxTom
And yet another. The hang of the mileage challenge will come as you get experience with the car. I get 47 mpg or more on many trips and overall average 40.4 since new <1,300 miles ago. About half of those miles have been "EV." Still not broken-in.
