JLC Posted August 18, 2023 Report Share Posted August 18, 2023 My 2014 SE has what sounds like a low pinch gear whine coming from the front end. It may have been there when we bought it new in 2014. Maybe it's tire noise. Maybe I notice it more now because of all the post about transmission problems in the C-Max. My question is, If the transmission is taken out of drive and put into neutral while coasting should the whine stop if it is the transmission? dalek Posted March 19 Report Share Posted March 19 Certain gears inside the eCVT will always turn with the wheels no matter what gear you are in, and that includes neutral.
