CtCarGuy
My daughter's 2014 C-max with 120K miles suddenly stop in the middle of a highway. It restarted but did it again shortly. She took it to her mechanic and he was clueless. She had been complaining that the transmission was noisy. She had the car towed to a Ford dealer who said the transmission was bad and the repair would be $6000 (car is only worth $4000). I have worked on cars for 60+ years and if the transmission was bad, the car would not move again but it does. I am thinking of taking it to another dealer for a second opinion. I have found that over the years, most dealers do not have people qualified to work on hybrids. I suspect it is electrical. Has anyone figured this out? Seems to be common. Tom Meek
Is the car a regular hybrid or an Energi? What state are you in?
