nogoodbum Posted February 1 Report Share Posted February 1 2013 SEL, Having a problem with the driver's side seat belt not retracting with enough tension or not at all occasionally. Do I need to replace or will lubrication help or is there an adjustment possible on the return spring? Any help is wanted including how to access retract mechanism. Thanks in advance. Mike G Posted February 2 Report Share Posted February 2 I had a problem like that on my 2013 Energi and cleaning the belt solved it. Pulled the belt all the way out, and put a small spring clamp on it so that it didn't retract. Then used a mild cleaner to wash the belt and dried it with a clean rag.
