HPRifleman
Does anyone know how to change the name of the paired phone in MFT? For example, my Galaxy S4 shows up on the screen as some alphanumeric designation like "XYZ-1234". Instead, I want it to have a less cryptic description like "Bob's iPhone" or something like that. mtb9153
Well speaking only from the perspective of the experiences I have with pairing my iPhone 5 to my MFT. Once the system see's my iPhone after I power up the car, the screen reads...Mike's iPhone 5 is connected. The reason it says that is because that is the name I designated for my phone when I connected it to my Mac Pro workstation and brought up iTunes and gave that as the name for my iPhone. That name is stored into memory on my iPhone and it uses that name when I connect to any other devices. You mentioned Samsung Galaxy S4, I know nothing about that phone but I bet there is a similar way to designate the name of your phone. Name it what you want and I bet next time you connect it to your CMax, it will show on your screen that way. Good Luck hope that helps? HPRifleman
Thank you. That was the information I needed. For others with Android 4.2.2 devices, Settings>More>About Device>Device Name You can then edit the device name. For it to show up in MFT you may have to delete the device in MFT and pair it again.
