Partial alarm+remote start install is problematic

Recommended Posts

Negotiated an alarm and remote start install with the purchase of my car.  Take it in and they can't finish it because they need another special module for the car and according to the tech, "this car kicked my butt".  Not exactly thrilled with that statement.

Anyways, apparently I'll now have 2 keyfobs - the stock one and the 'aftermarket' one.  Is there a Ford fob that I can get to control the whole system so I don't have to carry two fobs?

I can't speak to the Alarm, but the remote star fob does require a seperate fob from the lock/unlock fob you get w/ the car.  I know of no Fob that controls the whole system.

Thanks, I was just curious.  alarm guy is finishing install tomorrow.  Good thing, because my alarm went off at 75mph this morning.

Not sure off-hand, I'll have to look.

I don't actually like the way it functions.  If you use either keyfob to lock, then you HAVE to unlock with keyfob, or else the alarm goes off when you open the door using the keyless entry feature.  Also, the aftermarket keyfob is kind of crappy.
