Daytime / Nightime trips and FE

My night-time driving is always lower efficiency output then my daytime driving. Makes no difference if its a round trip where I left late afternoon to have dinner with friends and returned at night, a round trip. Seems that having lights on is a drag on my battery's ability to get the charging attention it needs :)

Anyway else see a drop off on FE mpg's at night time.

Over all my lifetime (no reset on computer) is now 44 mpg and 96% brake score, +16,000 miles on the odometer to date.

I'm the exact opposite.  Night brings cooler temps and, most importantly for me, lighter or no winds.

I have the "ghetto DRL mod"  that keeps my headlights on during the day but if I try for another 700+ mile tank where anything that can help should be tried, I'll turn them off and see if it helps.

Good points about temperature but at what temp range does one start seeing a decrease?  Below 70?  65?  At seven months in, I haven't experienced anything below 60f at night/mornings while most days are in the 80-100F range.

I think around 70-80degree range is when the decrease starts, but is not noticeable until probably below 60degrees. I sure noticed it at 50degress yesterday morning. I have had several members inquire about Grill Covers and will be shipping out a few sets shortly. I'm currently testing out LEXAN wheel covers.
