Cowspotdog
Like many I have had on going problems with the battery dying on mm CMAX........I thought the last update fix had indeed fixed it but then again this weekend another flat battery and I kept getting 'system error' everytime I tried to start it. Finally after about the fifth time - I got it going. Of coarse now my clock won't reset and my passenger side window keeps going up and down by itself. Now I was just on the way home and the little spanner appeared on the display. Grabbed the book to check what it is and it says its a "power train fault" YIKES. I have had my little car 1 year and I only have 7,500 miles on it - (no I don't drive much) and this will be the 6th time it has had to go in for repairs - and they can't get it in for a whole week. I am now to scared to even drive it! At the moment I am feeling like I want my old gas guzzling PT Cruiser back :( Bree
ptjones
Are there any FORD Electric Dealers nearby besides the one you are going too? That's to long to wait and what about a loner to use while they have it? Have you PM Ashley (FORD Rep) about your problems? :) Paul

Cowspotdog
thanks - took it in this morning - so far they can't find what is causing the problem - they are going to do more work on it tomorrow.
Cowspotdog
finally got my car back - they had to get yet another update - something to do with things not turning off properely and draining the battery - they didn't say what "things" even when I asked. They said it what was what also caused the power train fault to appear. I guess we shall see in about 3 months - things seems to ge crazy every three months of so. One thing I know they did fix was the faulty window - yeah no more showers at the car wash :)

You should have been given a document showing the exact work done including the codes for any recall work. ptjones
plus 3 golfer
Exactly, please people post the exact diagnostic troubles codes found if any, the documented problem, and the work performed including any service action item codes, recall codes, and so forth. It's on the service order that one receives when checking out whether under warranty or whether you pay for the service. Ask the SA what the numbers that are shown in the descriptive part of the service order mean. Best would be to simply scan the descriptive part of the service order and post as this will likely help others that have similar issues. ptjones
