Consumer Reports Blasts Honda Accord Hybrid MPG Claim

All the tisk tiskers seemed to want to make the C-Max mpg issue about Ford and the domestics. Well what do you know - saintly Honda has the same issue:  

 

 


In its own test of the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid, the influential magazine found that the gas electric model – priced from $29,155 to $34,905 — averaged just 40 mpg in the EPA Combined cycle, a full 7 miles per gallon below the figure on its Monroney, or window, sticker.

Finally they have a different car to pick on in the news and forums instead of the poor CMax ;)

they got the story wrong when they called it the Fusion CMax though :)

they got the story wrong when they called it the Fusion CMax though :)

:twister: I am jus waiting for someone to spout that our CMax is jus a more poorer MPG car than the Honda, bring on the stats. You jus wait and see... ;)

It's possible - the Accord Hybrid has the newest & most sophisticated hybrid system on the market, plus better aerodynamics & less horsepower. It will be interesting to see what Fuelly real-world results show as more of them are logged.
