C-MaxSea
Nice work Dave ! Speaking of gifts Laurel, I'd still like to see Ford give us 2013ers a couple 2014 aero mods for free (installed), like the hood seal and back window deflectors ! Pretty please, Nick Edited July 1, 2014 by C-MaxSea

DaveofDurham
Thanks for all the positive comments on the cards. I wanted to do this on a low budget. I knew there was a "250 free cards" offer and other coupons/discounts available from Vista Print. Ordering from Vista Print is similar to buying a car. You start with the basics (stock card with stock artwork and stock positioning of text) and then there are unlimited options to customize art, customize text position, font, and color; add art and text to the back of the card; special papers and special inks. These options are all enticing and all add cost. The "250 free cards" offer is for a basic card and does not include free shipping. I found another coupon online that discounted the cards and included free shipping - this turned out to be a better deal. My cards have stock artwork and stock text positioning, color and font. I came up with the text. I looked at the price of perforated card stock. A pack of 250 perforated blank cards costs about the same (+/- $1) of getting 250 basic cards printed and delivered from Vista Print if you use an online Vista Print coupon. I had cards with me when I was out yesterday. I saw one other C-Max on the move, but in two blocks it turned in a direction I didn't want to go. So, no cards delivered yet. There is a white one I often see parked in the same spot on Wednesday afternoon. I hope I will see it again today.
DaveofDurham
What have I done? I mentioned Vista Print a few times and now their ads are popping up at the top of every page I go to on this forum.

I've added Ghostery, Adblock, Adblock +, Facebook Disconnect extensions to Chrome which virtually block all ads and unwanted videos. Occasionally, you may have to pause blocking or whitelist a site to enable certain content on the site. My laptop is fairly fast so the overhead of these extensions is barely noticeable,
salsaguy
There is a white c-max parked on a street near my route to work that I always see every day that was thinking about putting a flyer on to tell them about this forum.you never know.Good idea but...The race car pix my turn off many/most who will think it's for a tint/alarm shop or mobile detailing business though.Would have been better to keep it plain without a car. Most hybrid owners aren't into sports cars..let say...:)Just sayingI got these cards (using a discount coupon from Vista Print) to leave on the other C-Max I encounter. photo 2(3).JPG
salsaguy
Ptjones like your cards better as it shows the actual car (the cmax) in question but you need to remove your own personal info so it's more generic to give out to anyone or leave on a car so it doesn't come off as a sales thing or you trying to attack someone or get a pick up line from a woman. Keep it group related not personal. You will get more folks to join that way. Your card looks better than mine. :drop: LOL :) Paul Edited July 5, 2014 by salsaguy
salsaguy
What can I do on my Kindle Fire tablet to do the same kind of blocking using the silk built in browser?I get the same ads at the top of the cmax forum. The few people I have talked to wanted my # if they wanted to ask me questions later. I haven't had any calls, hopefully they did get on the forum, how knows. :) Paul salsaguy
salsaguy
Thats cool they wanted to contact you if they had questions. You could always handwrite on the back " call so and so @ xxx-xxx-xxx if you have any cmax questions" Edited July 5, 2014 by salsaguy ptjones

The car shown is stock art on one of their basic card designs. I am sure they would have been happy to collect twice as much money from me and inserted a photo I had of a C-Max. I wasn't interested in paying that extra charge. ptjones

DaveofDurham
Is that a good place to put it? :) PaulI have been conducting tests w my car. I have not had one blow away yet. I think it will be spotted by the driver before getting in the car. I thought about placing the card under the windshield wiper. I will test this on my car too. I think it's a long reach and the retracted wiper is so low that the card may not be spotted easily. It's a cool 91 deg here right now. I'm going out to try under the wiper now. Much easier to reach the wiper than I thought it would be. Card is easily visible outside the vehicle from the front or side. Card is barely visible from inside the vehicle - only a small corner of the card extends above the black frit on the bottom of the glass.
