fotomoto
I posted this on the Energi forum but thought I'd share it here too. The wife got a new, loaded 2013 Energi last weekend: 303a package, platinum white paint and pano-roof. The was the last one on the lot with a huge $8k markdown. Combined that savings with the federal and state (new for Texas) rebates ($6500 total) along with some nice checks from Ford :spend: to use as down payments, the timing was right. She has a new, better paying job with a whopping 1 mile commute and so even the hybrid was only getting 18mpg on such short trips with a cold engine. I also didn't like the fact the ICE wasn't warming up so I was purposely driving it on longer trips around town and leaving my Energi in the garage which from a fuel conservation standpoint is shooting oneself in the foot...... The wife loves the roof but is deathly afraid of the self-park feature :drop: and I admit it is kind of creepy. LOL <edit> We spent Sunday practicing on some quiet neighborhood streets and now she loves it! :shift: I didn't know this little fun fact about the system: if you activate the left turn signal, it will look for open spaces on the left side of the car and will park on that side of the street. Freaky! Of course it rained on the way home from the dealer. :banghead: Adair
Adrian_L
You need a car to drive one mile? What is that, 15 minutes by foot?
fotomoto
You need a car to drive one mile? What is that, 15 minutes by foot? LOL, you don't know south Texas. Heat index today is 114f. :drop: Mornings can actually be worse due to off-the-scale humidity levels that will have you sweated through. The route is also not really safe for pedestrians. And lastly when school starts back up in the fall, her route will increase to about 4 miles. If we were to always take my car on out of town trips, she could theoretically never use gas! :kookie:
ptjones
You need a car to drive one mile? What is that, 15 minutes by foot? What do you mean by foot, 5min. by bike! LOL What happened to the old CMAX? WOW buying a New CMAX every 6months! Your Dealer really likes you.LOL I guess we won't be hearing from you anymore now you are all Energi's now. C-MaxSea
Great 'dealing' there Foto - you've got to love those numbers. Now your only problem is getting 'enough' ICE time on two ICE stingy buggies! (any rewiring of the umbilical ?) Adrian_L
Wait let me convert to Canadian......holy smokes 45 celcius? I remember that kind of heat from living in Cyprus 15 years ago. I didn't realize eyelids could sweat.

LOL :) The hybrid got traded in so hopefully it will go to a good home; especially since it "owns" the MPG record for a unmodified CMax. ;) (special wink towards you Paul, LOL) I won't be leaving the forum. The models' are too similar and this place has waaaaay too much good info from our members to leave. Smiling Jack and ptjones

NO WAY! I try to not speak in absolutes but I seriously don't plan on buying a non-plug in ever again. Back to the wife, she also needs a car at work for travel and carrying items. I did cross shop the Volt (yes, again) and the Leaf eventually narrowing it down to the Leaf and NRG. The base model Leaf S would have been cheaper but it would have been limited to in town use only and coming from a "pampered" life of SEL CMax'es it would have been a HUGE step down in features. It didn't even have cruise control! The CMax is a really great value when you start comparing features with other competitors.
