I purchased a black 2014 C-MAX on Sunday, to replace my 8 year-old, 117,000 mile Toyota Camry Hybrid, which my daughter will now be driving. I was looking for a place to find tips and tricks related to the C-MAX, and this appears to be it!

I spent the last 8 years promising myself that my next car would be one I can actually fit in. At 6'4" I've always had to recline the seat until my hair just brushed the headliner, then pretend I was comfortable. There are no such problems with the C-MAX!

I've already had my first problem with the C-MAX, but I'll post that in the appropriate forum  :)

Nice to meet you all!

At a wee 6'1", I can almost understand your dilemma TallJeff (and sympathize a lot).  The ease of entry on the C-Max was the greatest wow factor for me about the C-Max, practically took my breath away - I don't think a lot of people fully appreciate it.  I just kept climbing in to be sure I was not dreaming.  I have since written off all BFM vehicles for good (BFMs, being bend, fold & mutilate (me) that is))

Enjoy the new ever so sweet ride (our wow #2), sounds like a perfect fit !

No question this is one of the things that attracted us -- we were going to get a small SUV like the Escape for precisely this reason, as we've driven the Durango now for going on two decades and kind of like being up high.  While Maximis is not "high" she sure doesn't make us sit down on the ground like a skateboard (I couldn't believe how the Honda Civic Hybrid we drove did this -- was my Prelude *really* that low to the ground?  Makes me feel real old nowadays).

Phew, two weeks before I had a chance to come back and post again - is raising two teenage girls supposed to be this much work??

Thanks for all of the welcoming words! Those two weeks gave my one problem a chance to become three. I posted them in RockwallRick's thread if you'd like to check them out.

When I went car shopping, I had two firm requirements: 40 or more inches of headroom, and 40 or more combined city and highway miles per gallon. The C-Max is the only vehicle that truly met those two requirements. Others came close, but the C-Max hits both requirements hands-down.

I have noticed one odd thing about all that headroom, though. If I adjust the seat to where I want it (including the height), I can't see the top row of the center display, which is where the clock is. The "overhang" that keeps the sun off of it also keeps it out of my line of sight.

That was easily fixed by lowering the seat a little bit, though.
