Once both front wheels are off the ground, I use the floorjack somewhere under each lower control arm in the rear, one at a time.Curious why you're not using the rear jacking points? the middle of the rear crossbar looks sturdy, but I'd like some reassurance. My preference is to jack far away from externally visible painted surfaces. Mad C max Posted June 2, 2017 Report Share Posted June 2, 2017 I have those jack stands. I'm worried I have to jack the one side up too high to get them under, 11-3/4 inches. Too much stress on opposite side of vehicle. Still, why did Ford not put in a center jacking point? Need whole front or rear end up. Ford wants us to take the car in to dealer for the simplest service. All manufacturers do anymore. This is what my dad always complained about Japanese cars in the '70,s. Marty G Posted June 3 Report Share Posted June 3 I have a 2014 C-Max Energi. I wanted to switch my back tires with each other. I tried to use the place where the 2 thick metal sheets come together below, but they bent right over when I put any pressure on them. I also see quite a bit of rust underneath, so that is probably why. Anyway, I finally took 2 hydraulic jacks and put a board in between and got right under the back axle, between the wheels, and lifted it up that way. Worked really well.
