bigalpha
Looking for a diagram on how the cup holder is removed. Mine is rattling non-stop and it's driving me crazy. Also need a diagram for the seat belt button. Mine somehow is off track and I need to fix it.
Marc Smith
i have access to aldata and I can try to print some diagrams... not sure I understand the seat belt button but here is the aldata on the center console. looks like a bunch of spring clips nothing to "tighten down" so to speak ALLDATA Repair - Library and Educational Version - 2013 Ford C Max Hybrid L4-2.0L Hybrid - Floor Console.pdf
bigalpha
You know the button you push to adjust the height of the seatbelt on the b-pillar? That's what I need. Also, thanks for the diagrams. I may have to just pack something in there.

Also, thanks for the diagrams - though they don't show the cup holder removal. Surely I don't have to remove the entire console for that?! Marc Smith
Page #4 the cup holders are shaded in blue just behind the shifter. but it looks like you may have to remove the area under the shifter, and under the E-brake as well. Marc Smith
here is the set belt system... and the B pillar access... Honestly, If you are still under warranty... I'd take it to the dealer to deal with this. lot of work to with huge potential for a screw up... bigalpha
Awesome thanks so much. I'm way over warranty (60k miles); plus they were unable to fix these issues the 4 times i had the car in before anyways.
Marc Smith
center console looks easy enough just a bunch of clips. probably one of them is broken. I d go to a craft store and get some felt or something to help isolate the parts to keep them from rubbing. or some foam. the seatbelt is going to be a btch since to access it you need to remove the B pillar which means you need to remove the door trim... have fun....:)
bigalpha
Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking for the cup holder. It buzzes incessantly. I can only punch it so many times before it breaks, ya know. Not really looking forward to the b-pillar either. ugh, stupid ford.

bigalpha
Well, I really just meant that I even have to do this! Hell, my 93 Cherokee doesn't make this much noise.
mtb9153
Nice to see these .pdf CAD file 3D illustrations, I used to do this sort of work back before I got put out to pasture in the great 2007 SillyCorn Valley downsizing movement to reduce the number of 50+ year old employee's from their payroll. One word of caution before attempting to tear into this. These little beastie's have allot of electronic whiz bang gagets everywhere. It looks like there's an electronic module of some kind mounted on the passenger side of the center console. Shows a cable harness leading to it with a connector. Caution should be taken to not blow something out possible from static electricity. I bet that module is several hundred dollars to replace. Also in those illustrations the seats are removed, making this sort of tear down allot easier to get too. Back a few years when cars were much more owner friendly to work on, I would tackle just about any repair to keep my ride out of the hands of the dealer mechanics. But that is not the case anymore with all the electronic stuff in a CMax. Back when I did attempt a modification on my own to Maxus while I was looking for an electrical power source to power my after market DayLight Running Lights. I read somewhere that while I was probing around inside the electrical fuse box under the hood located in front of the drivers side. While using my battery powered volt meter to find the right power source. I read that it was possible to accidentally cause a partial air bag system deployment if a low level shock was applied to the right wire connection in the fuse box. Fortunately this did not occur. Now I rethink any self repairs or modifications and let the Ford techs muck around on their dollar. My 2 cents as an old guy who has learned a few lessons the hard way. Also if Ford see's you have been messing with things, they might not cover under your warranty the recall for the side curtain bag problem which I still need to have done but have been delaying doing since my dealer is in the process of a facility remodeling program and things are really messed up and delaying repair times.
