Right marker and brake light out.

Yep, I'd look for a grounding problem also. It's odd that both bulbs (filaments) go out at the same time, and that both are bad in the replacement. 

Before spending much more than 15 minutes on it, this should be covered by warranty. You've already done the obvious, now let the guys at Ford fix the problem.

No but I see you posted that you have no power to that side.  If you took a test light or volt meter to the contact and you have no power then you have ruled out the bulb and ground.  At least until you get power to that side again.  Do the tail lights work because that should use the same ground.  Also the side marker and tail lights are generally the same power source.  The brake light power is another circuit.
