stevedebi
well after reading about these sensors ..i guess I will wait to see how i like them. Before i invest in the camera. Will the senors radar pick upobstacles (kids toys and the like) .also does anyone use a radar detector in the car??Do these sensors make it go off?Are they on all the time? or just when in reverse..or do you have to turn them on manually.I am picking up the car today..hopefully the dealer will go over this with me.i have been driving for 44 years i really don't need any of this technology..I can't remember the last time i backed into anything. :shift:two sides and a rear view is all i really need...But all this technology fascinates me. :yahoo: sorry for all the nubie questionsThe sensor pick up wide objects like curbs and walls best. If there was a pole there (or a person), it is hit-or-miss as to if the sensors will pick them up. I think I will always have a backup camera and sensors on my future cars. bradleydad
I have an Energi. I find the backup sensors useless! It beeps just driving by my trash can yet is silent when backing up to a post I don't want to back into. I'd love to see the post before I hit it! The video showing installing the lockpik looks pretty easy. http://www.coastaletech.com/cmaxlockpick.htm All I'm concerned with is routing the video cable from the camera up to the dash. It's got to go from outside the car to somehow up under the dash. (I'll forgive this C Max a lot of shortcomings. I'm almost up to 90,000 miles and it still looks and drives like new and has needed no repairs, just service and tires and an occasional tank of gas for trips.)
