pat@mepatrick.com
My friend who owns a shop and is helping me to buy and fix a 2014 c-max Energi which was totaled by the previous owner. It has only cosmetic damage - the right front quarter, light, bumper, and the rear liftgate and bumper need replacement. The car has only 15k on it, so I'm excited to get it fixed up and have been browsing around to learn what I can. I'm guessing that the warranty is still valid (hoping), so I can get it into a dealer and have any software updates done (once I get it inspected and back on the road). Can someone give me a few pointers on top things I should know about or check into about the car? From what I've read it sounds like there could be a battery draining issue, etc... I'm stoked to drive it because my current car is a 16 year old outback which only gets ~22mpg and I'm driving ~50+ miles a day, so this c-max will really help! Thanks for any tips! markd
Welcome, I think the battery issue is mainly with 2013 SE's as for the warranty I would be doubtful.
plus 3 golfer
Ford warranty does not cover "vehicles that have ever been labeled or branded as dismantled, fire, flood, junk, rebuilt, reconstructed, or salvaged; this will void the New Vehicle Limited Warranty"
