markd
If you were to build a Transit Connect hybrid I would buy one. This will probably be my next very anyway but the 28 mpg is pushing me towards the Mercedes diesel.
ptjones
They did make at AZURE/FORD Transit Connect all electric in 2012 for $57k with 80 mile range. ;) They went bankrupt. Paul
markd
I'm still a couple of years from buying a new car but if they could get the mpg's up there I'd be in. The Titanium is a nice ride.
raadsel
If they really do get rid of the C-Max, I would hope they at least come out with a hybrid version of the Ford Escape, as a "replacement." Smiling Jack and ptjones
stevedebi
If they really do get rid of the C-Max, I would hope they at least come out with a hybrid version of the Ford Escape, as a "replacement." I'd love that, but I doubt it. The platform is too high, and they are selling well without the hybrid option. Why should Ford complicate their assembly line for a vehicle that will get lower 30's EPA at best? I don't know, maybe since Toyota has brought out a hybrid for the Rav4, Ford might consider it. markd
I drove one yesterday and it was nice and really not that pricy. Loaded is about 33,000, take off for the z plan and it's 27.

markd
No, a Transit Connect Titanium seven passenger mini van. It was like a slightly bigger C-max, just a little larger than a Mazda5.
ptjones
29mpg HWY with 1.6 ECB ICE ;) Paul
markd
That is what kills it for me and the fact that my car isn't really broken in yet, 16,000 miles. By 2019 I'll be looking and would love it. I've driven an Escape and didn't like having to step up to get in it.

ptjones
I do miss our AWD Aerostar extended van, it got 20 mpg, plenty of room and the seats would lay flat. ;) Paul

With a spring lift kit, it had more ground clearance than some of today's SUV's. It seated 10 (yes, with 10 seat belts from the factory.) The tailgate opened to the side or down. The seats folded flat, and it could load a 30-inch high table or a stack of 4 x 8 plywood lying flat. Most fun of all: It had the high compression 390 CID V8 ! But mpg? F'getaboutit !! ptjones
jackalopetx
The hybrid Transit Connect would probably be a huge hit with tradesmen and other small businesses in liberal cities... Seems like a missed opportunity markd
