djc
An odd highway accident, or accident write-up. If I am reading it right, a General Motors lugnut took out a 2013 Ford C-max, and the lugnut's tire took out a Ford F250 which in turn took out a Dodge Ram. Fortunately the participants were restrained. http://www.hayspost.com/2016/09/12/kan-woman-hospitalized-in-4-vehicle-accident-after-truck-loses-tire/

Adrian_L
Mmm. I think they should be more specific when they say everyone was "properly restrained". I'd probably want to take a tire iron to the guy who forgot to tighten his lug nuts. ptjones
obob
I witnessed something like this on the New Jersey Turnpike. I think it was more like an axle breaking than a lug nut thing. I also have had a loose wheel from lug nuts. I had lots of warning. The tire got really noisy.
stolenmoment
Many years ago, somebody in front of me lost their left rear wheel, and I managed to run over a brake shoe with *both* of my left tires. Of course, I only had one spare!
