Larger tires

Near term, check tire pressure and up it to sidewall rating.

Long term, you want a tire that gives you fewer "revolutions per mile" than the OEM's 803 revs, as that's a direct measure of on-road diameter.

For Energy Saver A/S, I'm seeing:

235/50R17 & P235/50R17, both 791

235/55R17 - 766

P215/65R17 - 742

P225/65R17 - 730

These will fit OEM wheels, but you have to check for mechanical interference under all conditions of lock and rebound. That's where you'll find the rub in your plan.

HAve fun,

Frank

I used 215/55 R17 for my snow tires (approx 26.3" diam 767 rpm) , they were actually about $25-30/ea cheaper than the stock size or some of the other sizes listed above.

stock is about 25.9" diam. it was close enough for me for the savings.

Do you know what effect it had on MPG's?

Since it's been colder and seen some snow, I have the snow tires on, I did put Xice3 LRR Michelens.  I do have top grille cover on, need to put the bottom one on.

I have def. seen the MPG's go down probably 2-3mpg. but not too bad overall.

I think you are referring to Center Grill cover and you should really have the lower one on all the time to get the best MPG's. Now that it's cold you should cover/tape up top grill too. Was the loss in mpg's from tires or drop in temps?  If you can use oil pan heater it also helps MPG's. :)

I meant center and lower grille covers are both on. (lower just put back on today). I check on the upper grille too, never closed them off before.

I think the ICE runs more since it's colder, i do let it heat up a bit, before leaving. since it sits outside and our weather has been all over the place, 60's, snow, ice, frost, 20's, now back up in the 40-50's this week.
