As the hybrid C-Max isn't sold in Europe I'm going to get new brake pads and tires put on before we depart. I've just replaced the wiper blades and I'm thinking I should also buy a set of light bulbs just in case. A lot, maybe the vast majority, of C-Max users have little brake wear due to the braking done with regeneration rather than the brake pads. I had the current ones replaced about 4k miles ago. I'm now at 50K so hearing the brake pads are still good at 160k is great news especially for the pocket. Plus 3 - by fog lights you mean the front 'puddle lights'? or a separate light for the back? I'm from the UK, been in the US for a long time now, but I recall there was a law to have rear fog lights (which everyone always forgot to turn off). I will check with the authorities in the Netherlands on this. I'm also checking out the panels/windscreen sizing. We'll be gone for at least 3 years, maybe longer depending on how everything works out. We have always anticipated keeping the car till it becomes no longer usable so I am not too worried about having to resell it during the time we are there. Cheers, Derek. cmax-nynj Posted July 23, 2017 Report Share Posted July 23, 2017 (edited) I changed a set of Range Rover Evoque Brakes and they look almost identical to the CMax's brakes. The Evoque has Ford Calipers. I don't think the CMax's brakes are any special you should be able to find parts in Europe for it. Cheers, Derek.Fog lamps (front lamps below the head lights) are standard on the 2013 SEL. Anyways with obob's post about Amazon shipping, It would only be about $30 for the part and $10 shipping. Not bad IMO. But the windhield, if not available in Euorpe, could be expensive to ship as the windshields are very large and heavy. What's the cost of auto insurance? If body panels, hybrid parts, windshields are not readily available for a model one is insuring, does the insurer add a premium for such vehicles? Plus3 - Ford do sell the fusion hybrid in the Netherlands so the hybrid parts are looking more and more obtainable - but I can imagine the typical sucking of teeth when asking for support. I have queries into Ford UK to check on windshields and body part compatibility - I'm hoping they will be identical but planning that they won't...
