Good Morning!

My husband and I have been looking at cars for what seems like months.  In reality it's only been a few weeks.

We test drove a Toyota Prius C, a Ford Fusion Hybrid and Saturday night we test drove the C-Max Hybrid.

Up until we drove the C-Max, hubby and I were completely split on what we liked.  I REALLY like the Prius C and he REALLY liked the  Fusion.  The Fusion was a beautiful car and a very smooth ride.  I just kind of felt like I was driving a boat and since I am the main driver of the car....well you know how that conversation went. My current car is a 2004 Hyundai XG 350L. Hubby HATED the look of the Prius C.

Had to wait a week on the dealer to get a C-Max that had all the bells and whistles on it.  It came in late Friday so we went to the dealer after I got off work on Saturday.  Really like the handling, the quiet ride, the BEAUTIFUL paint job (Ice Storm). I love the face it has more room inside than the Prius C does.

My husband is an employee of the dealership so we get employee pricing on it. That coupled with our downpayment and trade value and we are right side up in a loan even buying a BRAND NEW car!!! So excited about that I can't tell you how much.

It will be hard going back to having a car payment but I really feel like this is a great choice.  As long as the Finance guy gets it done today, we should be able to pick it up tonight. So excited, I can't wait to start playing with all the gadgets and learning all the tricks.

I'm told this is the place to learn the tips and tricks.  So...load me up with info.  I've been browsing the forum and there is so much information here.  Awesome!

Thanks guys! I'm so excited. I feel like a kid at Christmas. Haha we picked it up tonight and we just drove through a drive through for food and came home. I almost can't wait to drive to drive to work in the morning. Notice I said almost. Hahaha

I am new to hybrids as well so I'm anxious to learn as much as I can as quick as I can so I can get those MPGs up.

You will live the Ice Storm color. One direction it looks pale silvery blue, another way looks good and in my garage it looks green. I'll see if I can post the picture I took tonight.

Rhonda, hey welcome to the site. I'm a n00b here as well and was very excited to find a forum just for our cars. Being new to hybrid driving, you'll learn quicker here than on your own testing this or that. Head down to the Fuel Mileage section for some nice hints. I think a pinned FAQ would not go astray on this website but thats admin work.

By the way, nice choice on the Ice Storm. Mine is the Platinum White but the Ice Storm was close. Unfortunately, I got talked into the White by the better half. Infact, theres a ton of great colors for this car, I was really amazed by how difficult it was to choose one and LOTS of options. Did you get the tinting for the windows - thats a gotta have or high on the to-do list, changes the way the car looks, imo.

Congratz and welcome, welcome, welcome....

Wow! Thanks Jus-A-Cmax!  I have already picked up a few tips.  It was really cold for my drive in this morning. So I turned off the climate control and turned on the seat heater in order to get more miles in EV mode until the motor warmed up.  VERY good tip!!! I will definitely look at window tinting.  I would rather get it done after market vs. paying dealer price for it.

My last car was a white pearlescent paint job.  Really liked it. That car hated cold weather though.  It ran like crap if it was cold outside. Poor thing...last night was the first night in 7 years she sat out in the cold instead of a garage.

Read the high points of the manual.  We didn't get home with the car until 8:15 last night so I didn't have time to get through the whole manual.  But it will get read today no doubt.
