djc
Toyota announced it will offer hybrid (or pure EV) options across all lines. Apparently for the hybrids they will use the current Prius drive system, with new heavier or lighter duty versions. Some commentators say this represents a shift away from hydrogen. Development of hydrogen consumed Toyota's attention and resources, but now the emphasis will be hybrid and plug-in. https://www.cnbc.com/2017/12/18/toyota-says-all-its-cars-will-have-an-electric-or-hybrid-option-by-2025.html
SnowStorm
It will sure be interesting to see what "next-generation solid-state batteries" look like - and cost. 20 years from now we'll be looking back and saying "we were worried about battery cost and EV range?"
