Speculated availability: very late 2018 or early 2019. There are already rumors that there will be an Escape Hybrid, starting next year, such as this article from Green Car Reports. 62Lincoln
Ford announced earlier this year that every CUV/SUV/PU introduced going forward would be offered in hybrid/PIH or EV versions, although not necessarily all 3. That announcement suggests that the next gen Escape will offer at least a 48v mild hybrid version, perhaps something even more. There have been photos of Escape development mules with charging doors in the front fender, so that's a hopeful sign.
