kd7tqn
Hey all, My 2014 cmax non energi has been having the dreaded rubbing/grinding/thumping noise from the transmission for several thousand miles now(maybe 8k). This whole time I assumed it was a wheel bearing going out and finally had it checked out to verify. With it being over the factory warranty mileage at 113k I am looking at all my options on how to repair this issue. I was looking at used hf35s on LKQ and it turns out I can get a later model from say a 2016 with less miles for up to $500 cheaper than I can an early model year from a 13 or 14. My question is if the problem is bad enough that I now have to replace the transmission, can I put a later year hf35 without pissing off the cars computer system or having to make serious modifications? Thanks Jason
SnowStorm
Yes - just get the VIN from the donor car and check that the replacement part number for that VIN is the same as the replacement part number for your car's VIN. That's what I did for my 2013 SE - I think mine was a 2016. Later years should be better anyway.
