Adair
I apologize in advance if this is too far afield, but I know many of you drive or have driven other vehicles, and may have an answer. My husband has a 1 owner 1997 Chevy Venture that he bought used a few months ago. It has a small overhead console that shows temperature, average mpg and current mpg. There is no info about it in the owners manual and we can't find anything online. He called Chevy tech support and they couldn't help, suggesting that it might be an after market add on. He wants to reset it, and any other information about it. I can try to send a picture if that would help. TIA, Adair
MikeB
Yea, a picture would help, and you might find a logo or something while poking around. If it's aftermarket, there's a good chance it's a ScanGauge, that seems to be a popular model. http://www.scangauge.com/ Cars after 1997 have a standard diagnostic port, OBD II, and it's not hard to build a small computer to show values coming out of that port. Ryan McEachern
are there buttons to cycle between the temp/mpg? if so, odds are the reset will be from either holding down one, or both of the buttons.
Adair
Here is a picture of one of the displays. Ryan, I will tell him to try that, if he hasn't already. Thanks!
Ryan McEachern
That's the stock Chevy Venture Driver Information Center. Reset should be just holding down both buttons at the same time for a few seconds.
