Laurel
The video of the pole crash test didn't look so good. I can't find a summary of the results anywhere. Anyway have a link?

F8L
Those are great results for such a small car!
Laurel
Thanks Adair. The ratings are good, but that pole crash one doesn't look survivable. But maybe crashes into poles never are.
Adair
Yeah, I thought the pole crash looked pretty bad too. I'm gonna try not to do that! dtorres
Jus-A-CMax
The pole one looks bad but if you look carefully, the driver seat goes away from the impact area. Damage is still done though especially to the hip and thigh area, not good. Moral of the story, just don't go smashing into a pole on the side. However, what I would have luved to see is a tbone by another car. IMO and experience, that would be more realistic.
C-MaxJaxon
There is a side crash video I didn't see before. http://www.firstpost.com/topic/person/pimp-c-ford-c-max-hybrid-2013-side-crash-test-nhtsa-crash-video-AxpS0P_YB18-21942-3.html Jus-A-CMax
Jus-A-CMax
Thanks for the links C-MaxJaxon, thats very, very informative. As I posted very early on when I joined this forum, there is a pin and hole in the rear passenger door and thats crucial for bracing the door and protecting the cabin as this video demonstrates. Nice to see this feature working and stopping the collape on a direct side on tbone. Edited January 19, 2013 by Jus-A-CMax
JAZ
I reckon these videos go a long way to explain why some of us are waiting so long for delivery of our vehicles: they're being consumed in crash testing. Fits2at
I always hate watching these. They seem a waste of a perfectly good car. *sigh* Necessary evil though. Pretty impressive score. Side pole crash test looked the worst. Ouch!
valkraider
European tests if you are interested.... Other than changes as a result of the hybrid powertrain, this is predominantly the same car with regards to crash tests.

SBGrad
For me, watching those vids is like walking under a ladder-- I hope I didn't jinx myself posting here. Superstitious much? Why, yes, yes I am.
Jbtbga
Thanks for the links. Was trying to find this before I purchased, but after buying the car, the ratings are reassuring. Did not think the pole side test was too bad. This is especially welcome given the Prius V's relatively poor results on the IIHS results (the other car I was considering).
